Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has had a bad month. In addition to all the legal drama surrounding her falling out with former roommate Hannah Inman, she has had a terrible time of it health-wise. After being diagnosed with strep throat and mono, she had to go in last week for a tonsillectomy. Last night she was back in the hospital after she began coughing up blood, and returned home late last night only to begin coughing up blood again a few hours later. Jenelle expressed her frustration on Facebook and even posted a rather gruesome photo of what her latest coughing fits had produced.

Valentine’s Day as we know it now is very bittersweet: Sweet if you’ve got a generous crush/love and/or lots of friends to shower you with gifts, cards, emails, tweets, flowers, and candy, until you’re swimming in red and pink colored flattery. It’s also sweet if you’re a pop star who spends Valentine’s Day with a dying fan.

But it’s also very bitter, for those who think it’s just another cynical holiday meant to sell candy and cards, and of course, if you’re not linked up to anyone romantically during this time, it just seems like everyone who is is just rubbing it in your face. That girl at work that keeps getting flowers delivered. That kid at school with ALL the candygrams. Your best friend/sister/mortal enemy and her reservations at the poshest spot in town with her fiance (who’s in finance, looks like George Clooney, and loves puppies.) Really, it’s kind of sadistic when you think about it.

So, how did this wretched/wonderful holiday come about? It turns out the history of Valentine’s day is even more brutal than finding an empty Valentine’s cubby in elementary school.

The hard work paid off as Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun took notice and flew the Routh family to New York City for some quality time with the Biebs. From Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen: “I can confirm that Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. We received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills Fire and police responded minutes later. It’s unclear who notified hotel staff because she has quite an entourage here at the hotel. We attempted to resuscitate her, to no avail.”

Leah Messer deletes Facebook page, all but abandons Twitter account after “cheating” episode

In this week’s 90-minute episode of Teen Mom 2 an emotional Leah Messer revealed to her husband Corey Simms that she slept with her ex Robbie Kidd a week before their wedding. Spare Parts: A dedication to the moms of Teen Mom 2

Last night’s penultimate episode of Teen Mom 2 was an hour and a half roller coaster of emotions and learning the hard way via the school of hard knocks. We’ve admittedly got a soft spot for our girls and find ourselves pulling for them to break through the very real problems they face and to better themselves for the future of their children. As the curtain closed and we saw Leah overcome with the reality of her impending divorce, I was reminded of a song called “Spare Parts” and thought I’d share it. It’s a reminder that even in these moments in time where each turn seems like a bad one there’s grace, strength, conviction and love to be found.

Amber Portwood says she wants her family back, is willing to remain drug free

During her court hearing yesterday in which a judge accepted her plea deal allowing her to re-enter rehab in lieu of serving jail time, Teen Mom star Amber Portwood said she was committed to her family and being drug free. She also said that once she was released she would finally set up the court-mandated $10,000 college trust fund for her daughter Leah, get her GED, and pay $56 in outstanding court fees. “I understand it’s going to be hard,” she said, “but I have a lot to lose.”

Sarah Burge is a 50-year-old U.K. lady who supplements her income from “organizing plastic surgery and swinging parties and writing erotic novels” with selling tabloids stories about herself and her four daughters. The latest headlines is a jaw-dropper that’s landed her a gig on Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers (her episode airs today after his Teen Mom update.) She gave her daughter Poppy a gift certificate for breast implants for her seventh birthday as party of a “pamper party.” Last year she made headlines with Poppy for teaching her to dance around a stripper pole.
