Just when you think that Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow has reached the zenith of pop culture something happens that elevates the living Twitter-trend to a whole different level.
I was pretty amazed when Lady Gaga, a New York Giants fan, tweeted how impressed she was by the young man who beat the Steelers on an 80 YRD TD pass on the first play of overtime in last week’s playoff game. I thought to myself, “You can’t beat Gaga posting about football.”
Well I was wrong. I was a random dude from the 80’s rewrites his mega-hit for his Tebowness wrong.
John Parr got a grammy nomination back in 1985 for his song ‘Man In Motion” best known as the theme to the brat pack film St. Elmo’s Fire. Well Parr is still around and was so inspired by Tebow that he was rewritten the song to a re-imagined work called “Tim Tebow’s Fire.”
This is real. Parr did it. Here’s what he said:
“I was inspired by Tim Tebow, so I wanted to modify the lyrics … in his honor of the way that he lives his life as being a great example.”
Wow! “Man in Motion” was a #1 hit two years before Tebow was even born. Well ladies and gentlemen here is the new work “Tim Tebow’s Fire” followed by the full lyrics:
