Although Jamie Lynn Spears is obviously following in her big sister Britney’s footsteps to some degree with her debut album due out soon, Jamie’s also heading down a slightly different path in that she’s eschewing the electronic dance beats and synthesized pop in favor of the toned down twang of traditional country music. Or at least that’s what we must assume after hearing the debut single “How Could I Want More” released earlier today — a wonderfully understated ballad about overcoming the insecurity and irrationality of the human heart, which often wants more than plenty, especially when it comes to love. Miranda Lambert responds to weight loss surgery reports

Country singer Miranda Lambert showed off her thinner figure at the 47th Annual CMA Awards earlier this month (photo above) and of course her weight loss spawned stories in the tabloids that she had surgery to help her lose the weight. Miranda took to her website earlier today to address those reports directly with a frustrated statement clarifying that she did not have any sort of surgical procedure and that she lost it the “good old fashioned way” by “watching what I eat and working out.”

Hollywood didn’t seem to learn from Red Dawn that it doesn’t make any sense to try to remake a Patrick Swayze movie as the 1989 cult classic action flick Road House joins a queue of Swayze remakes in the work that includes Dirty Dancing and Point Break. The reboot will reportedly be directed by Rob Cohen, who launched The Fast and the Furious franchise and directed other big budget action films such as xXx and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Is TLC’s Breaking the Faith fake or real?

TLC drew a lot of criticism for its Breaking Amish reality series after it was later revealed that all of the cat member had left their respective Amish and Mennonite communities long before taping began. As you might expect, when TLC announced they would be airing a similar series based on former members of the controversial Warren Jeffs led FLDS (Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) titled Breaking the Faith (premiering tonight at 10/9c), many were skeptical just how truthful the series would be. Judging from evidence gathered so far, it appears TLC is sticking to their tried and relatively untrue formula by casting actual former FLDS members, but then having them act out a scripted narrative.

28-year-old Earl Sampson of Miami Gardens, Florida has been stopped and questioned by police in his hometown 258 times in just four years, searched more than 100 times and arrested on 56 occasions. Most of his arrests were for trespassing at the convenience store where he works and his worst offense was minor possession of marijuana. Store owner Alex Saleh was so troubled by what what was happening he installed multiple cameras not for his own security but to protect his employees and patrons against the police. Chris Brown had enraged outburst in anger management, could face jail time

Chris Brown is reportedly in jeopardy of facing serious jail time after it was revealed he had a meltdown during his two-week residence at an anger management therapy facility that included objects being thrown and broken. It was reportedly this incident that led to Brown being booted early from the facility, which is contrary to the story put out by Brown that he left to fulfill his community service obligations. A hearing on Brown’s case has been scheduled for this afternoon.

UPDATE – Chris Brown has been ordered to enter an inpatient anger management treatment facility for 90 days. It has also been revealed that the violent outburst he experienced in the facility was during a visit from his mother who was trying to convince him to stay longer.
