VIDEO Duck Dynasty’s Miss Kay says son Alan talked her out of suicide during Phil’s dark days

Duck Dynasty family matriarch Kay Robertson spoke at the “Night of Ducks and Hucks” fundraising event in Monroe, North Carolina Saturday. Miss Kay spoke candidly about the well-publicized dark period she endured with husband Phil during the early days of their marriage, going as far as to explain how her oldest son Alan, at the tender age of just 10, convinced her not to take her own life. See the beautiful testimony as she tells the story of the sound of 3 footsteps outside her bathroom door and how her boys, as children, knew what she needed.

Duck Dynasty’s Ms. Kay Robertson throwback photos from childhood and high school

Duck Dynasty Season 4 kicks off tomorrow night with a one-hour special that includes a special surprise vow renewal ceremony for Robertson family patriarch and matriarch Phil Robertson and “Ms. Kay” Robertson to celebrate their 49th anniversary. In honor of the momentous occasion, I thought I might hop in the ol’ virtual time machine for a trip down memory lane with some throwback photos of Ms. Kay — most of which were taken long before any of the Robertson men had sworn off razors.

PHOTOS Ladies of Duck Dynasty don matching camo dresses in NYC

New York City was invaded by the south as the cast of Duck Dynasty found themselves in the big city for A&E’s Upfronts. Fresh off the heels of confirming an upcoming 4th season of the most popular reality show on cable, the cast was photographed making their way out of their NYC hotel rooms, and as the bearded boys of Duck Commander would all tell you, the ladies stole the show as they strutted their stuff in camouflage dresses! See Miss Kay, Korie, Jessica and Missy as they added a little southern spice to the Big Apple.

PHOTOS VIDEO Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson as quarterback for Louisiana Tech and high school

In a family of larger than life characters, Phil appears to be the laid back, quiet one. But sitting on the sidelines isn’t always what made the Duck Commander happy happy happy. Check out some amazing video footage of him QBing the 1966 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in a game against Ken Stabler and the Alabama Crimson Tide in 1966! Plus, lots of Phil Robertson football photos from college and high school, including ones with his backup, future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw!

Official Duck Dynasty Season 3 cast photos in camo

The number one reality show on cable (that doesn’t involve the buying and reselling of used merchandise) comes back tonight as the bearded bravados of the Robertson family return for season 3 of Duck Dynasty with back-to-back premiere episodes beginning at 10/9c on A&E. To promote the new season, the Robertsons posed for photos sporting stylish camouflage outfits in a room (and on a Chaise lounge — er, Jase lounge?) decorated with the same camo pattern. The result is the usual awesomely awkward suaveness we’ve come to expect from the Robertson boys! (Korie and Miss Kay also got in on the fun two, but their photos are anything but awkward!)

DUCK DYNASTY Korie and Willie Robertson wedding photo with the whole Robertson family

The Robertson family knows how to stick together and it’s something they’ve been practicing a long time. Check out this photo from 1992 of the whole family at Willie and Korie’s Wedding! From Alan’s Magnum PI mustache to Phil’s black beard, this excellent Robertson photo time capsule will put a big grin on your face.

Duck Dynasty Family Album: Willie and Korie Robertson’s five kids

Sometimes it is tough to keep track of all the Robertsons. Phil and Si are pretty easy to tell apart once they open their mouths, and it doesn’t take long to be able to tell bandana’d Willie from lanky Jase. But, those kids are another matter. There are so many of them! Here’s a primer on Willie and Korie’s five gorgeous children and a little info about how each of them came into the Roberston fold.

If you tune into A&E’s hugely popular reality series Duck Dynasty you will see a bunch of Southern fried (and seemingly crazy) bearded men somehow managing to be civilized enough to run a multi-million dollar empire.
