In the statement the family acknowledges Phil’s comments were “coarse” but adds that they were “grounded in the teachings of the Bible.” The statement then casts a shadow on the future of the series when it reveals the family is “in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty,” but that they “cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm.”
