Last week the Jim Henson Company announced they were severing ties with fast food chain Chick-fil-A and would no longer be providing toys for their kids’ meals after the restaurant’s president Dan Cathy recently officially confirmed the company’s anti-gay marriage stance. Beloved childhood book characters The Berenstain Bears also have an upcoming promotion with Chick-fil-A, so will they be following in the furry footsteps of the muppets in opposition? Sort of, but not really.

America’s favorite found-footage horror franchise is back! (Sorry Blair Witch, you done’ got left behind.) Picking up where Paranormal Activity 2 left off (the third installment was a prequel – and a disappointing one at that), PA4 is directed by PA3 vets Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman and bears the tagline “All of the activity has led to this.” After a good bit of teasing, Paramount Pictures finally released the first official trailer today, and it looks to be a teen-centric take on the usual Paranormal Activity formula – which has not been a bad thing 66% of the time so far! Patricia Legarreta and Jamie Rohrs were in attendance at the midnight showing of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado early Friday morning when a gunman opened fire, killing 12. The couple caught the attention of the media after it was revealed they were at the movie with their 4-month-old son and Legarreta’s 4-year-old daughter. Patricia suffered a minor bullet wound, but both children and Jamie were unharmed – Jamie due in part to the fact that he bolted from the theater, leaving Patricia to tend to the safety of the two children. The showdown continues between media giants Viacom and DirecTV as the the two sides continue to be unable to reach a new contract agreement, resulting in all of Viacom’s networks (including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon) to be unavailable to DirecTV subscribers since Tuesday night at midnight. In reaction to their subscribers outrage over not being able to see certain programs, DirecTV posted a list of “Other ways to watch” Viacom programming that included links to the programs that offered full episodes streaming on network sites. In an apparent reaction to those links, Viacom has since removed recent full-episode streaming content for some of its shows, including Teen Mom, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report.
