Lady Gaga stunned her little monsters today when she announced on Twitter that she would be appearing in the upcoming Robert Rodriguez film Machete Kills as a character named La Chameleon. “Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress in the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ,” Gaga tweeted. “IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane.”
She shared the La Chameleon character poster above by retweeting director Robert Rodriguez’s earlier tweet, “I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills , she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!” The poster features Lady Gaga with yellow hair holding a smoking pistol with a silencer and wrapped in a white wolf. Completing the look are some sultry thigh-high panty hose, a large bejeweled necklace, and a yellow unitard undergarment.
Not much is known about Gaga’s character La Chameleon at this point, but she joins an amazing roster of talent for the gratuitoustastic sequel to Machete that includes Mel Gibson, Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Demián Bichir, Amber Heard, Zoe Saldana, Sofia Vergara and Charlie Sheen as President of the United States. Interestingly, Cuba Gooding Jr. is listed on IMDB as playing a character named “El Camaleon,” the male correlative to La Chameleon, so perhaps he will be Gaga’s love interest in the film? I guess we will have to wait and see.
For those of you thinking this will be the first acting gig for the Mother Monster, let’s not forget her long list of cinematic music videos! And then there’s that appearance on The Sopranos as a teenager.
