Having a Facebook account these days is turning out to be a hassle!
There’s a report of an all girls high school in Brooklyn, Beis Rivkah High School, fining students in the 11th grade $100 if they have a Facebook account! Girls were pulled out of class, and handed slips telling them they had to delete their Facebook accounts right away, AND pay $100. If they didn’t do both things, they would be expelled from school. The fine will be returned at the end of the school year.
Down in South Carolina there was a good old-fashioned high school girl’s soccer game going on when, seemingly out of nowhere, things got extremely violent. The schools, Chester High School and Lewisville High School, are rivals, but what transpired went beyond the pale for any rivalry game. On Friday the film Bully will hit theaters on a limited release. The documentary about the bullying epidemic in America has already generated a lot of controversy over its R rating by the MPAA because of real life adult language used in the film, often by those who are doing the bullying. One of the people featured in the film is Alex Libby from the town of Sioux City, Iowa. He suffers serious bullying as a 12-year-old beginning his middle school years. Yesterday Jersey Shore’s The Situation admitted that he was in rehab receiving help for a problem with prescription pills. Some reports have also cited his drinking as a problem, something that wouldn’t be too much of a surprise since we’ve all seem the footage.
Even so his drinking seemed to be on par with the rest of the crew, but there were other things going on that made The Situation’s behavior erratic even when everyone else was sober (or made his behavior seem more extreme even when everyone else was wasted, remember when he slammed his own head in the wall in Italy?)
The Situation’s dad told Radar Online that this isn’t his son Mike’s first time at the rehab rodeo. He went once before at the age of 27, after years of substance abuse.
