Mike Tyson reveals low point: Morphine drip, cocaine, weed, Hennessy, Cialis, beating 7 women

I am just old enough to remember an up and coming devastating boxer by the name of Mike Tyson. The memories are faint but the early ones involve black trunks and some other unfortunate pugilist on the wrong end of a one-round knock out.

The years have passed and Mike Tyson’s life has become a parody of itself. He got in to a lot of trouble and hurt a lot of people and somehow managed to stay alive and out of prison for life following his intense down spiral. In a recent interview with Robin Leach for Las Vegas Weekly Mike Tyson was asked what his low point in his life was and the answer, even coming from the Tyson we know now, was disturbing and shocking.

LVW: And the lowest point in your life where you thought it wasn’t worth living?

Tyson: This is really dark. I am in my hotel suite, I’ve got seven women there, and I have a morphine drip, and I had my cocaine, and I had my Cialis, I had my marijuana, I had the Hennessy, and I am at my lowest point because I got paranoid and I thought these women were trying to rob me and set me up. I started beating them. I was in a dark place. There was a purpose, though, because I didn’t want to give them any more of my soul.

The interview coincided with his one-man show in Vegas called, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth – Live on Stage at the Hollywood Theatre at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. According to the Las Vegas Sun the show features, “The fighter revealing untold stories in an up-close-and-personal setting featuring images, music and video.”

The premiere was over the weekend – the above photo is of Mike and his wife Lakiha Tyson at the event. Celebrities in attendance included Kody Brown and his Sister Wives, George Lopez, Sugar Ray Leonard, Piers Morgan and Paula Abdul.

Paula appeared to enjoy the evening:

Tyson added that he no longer abuses cocaine and that he’s been clean of the drug for 3 years.

Later Leach asked Tyson what lesson can be learned from his life as communicated in his show.

Tyson: I am still finding the lesson, but I know what I learned in life. It’s that you can change your mind whenever you want. You can change your life whenever you want. You want to change this second, you say, I wish I could change my life, you can. I never thought I could. With my wife, I could. By myself I couldn’t, I would be distracted.

I would be on the right path, and somebody would distract me. Some slut would distract me, or some dope dealer would distract me. But with my wife, she keeps me focused, and I won’t get distracted. The sky is the limit with us. Once we are focused and we are living clean, and giving praise to God, and we are living a good life, there is nothing that can stop a person that’s time has come.
