Although the show is pure brilliance, one criticism some have had is that it doesn’t feature strong, well-rounded female characters. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey’s characters and performances are so nuanced and masterful that this is an easy sin to forgive, especially since the show’s format mimics American Horror Story in that each season is a whole new mini-series type tale.
