Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino shocked fans when it was revealed back in March that he had checked himself into rehab, reportedly for addiction to a laundry list of prescription pills that included Xanax, Ambien, and Dilaudid. The 29-year-old reality star issued an official statement confirming his prescription drug problem and stint in rehab on March 21. He was released from rehab in early April but has remained relatively quiet in the media about the whole ordeal – until now.

This week a story came out that Amber Portwood wants to join the military to pay for college (she’s currently still working towards her GED,) and turn her life around. Her brother Shawn was excited about the idea, especially since the Army helped him pay for his own college.

Shawn told Reality Weekly magazine “I’m encouraging her 100 percent all the way. We have talked about her getting an education. But I told her to hold off on college and try to get into the military, which she wants to do anyway. Then, once her service is up, she will have her college paid for, like I do right now.”

The Mob Wives franchise is expanding to the Windy City and if the initial bios are any indication the cast members of Mom Wives Chicago are just as connected to organized crime as their Staten Island sisters. Swamp People’s Mitchell Guist dies in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana

Swamp People star Mitchell Guist died this morning. Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack tells WBRZ the incident occurred around 9 a.m. in St. Martin Parish along the Belle River. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ “someone tried to perform CPR on Guist … but attempts to resuscitate the reality star were unsuccessful.” Friends close to Guist tell the site he had recently fallen ill, but there are no further details at this time.

UPDATE – According to law enforcement sources, Glenn was out in his boat along the Belle River … when he “fell.” Witnesses say he appeared to have been suffering from a seizure.

Hyland has revealed that she’s struggled from a life long battle with kidney dysplasia and that she underwent a kidney transplant surgery on April 13. In Teen Wolf, MTV looks to have found something it has desperately been looking for for some time – a successful scripted series. The ratings for the show’s inaugural season were very strong, ending with more than 2.1 million viewers for the finale. The second season is set to kick off just after the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on June 3, and to help tide you over until then, here are some wallpaper-quality photos of the cast as well as the trailer for Teen Wolf’s sophomore season!

TLC to air two more episodes of “Virgin Diaries” in 2012

It’s amazing that 15 seconds of cringe-worthy affection could spawn a reality television franchise, but that seems to be exactly the case with TLC’s Virgin Diaries. The network aired their first one-hour VD special in December of 2011 and it featured a wedding of dualing virgins who had never even kissed when they were pronounced husband and wife. What happened after the preacher said “you may kiss the bride” single-handedly reduced the mononucleosis rate in America by 36 percent. Now TLC has officially announced it will air two more Virgin Diaries specials this summer.
