One of the early favorites to win the heart of The Bachelorette Emily Maynard is Indy car driver Arie Luyendyk, Jr. Not only does he have a racing background, which should strike very close to home for Emily, whose NASCAR racing fiance Ricky Hendrick died in a tragic airplane crash in 2004, but Arie seems to be an early fan favorite solely based on looks!
But despite the good looks and background in racing, Arie does a have a couple strikes against him. Number one, he used to date The Bachelorette producer Cassie Lambert, which reportedly angered Emily when she found out.
Secondly, Arie has himself a criminal record! Well, sort of.
The Arie Luyendyk Jr. mug shot photo above was taken in October, 2008 after he was arrested twice in one week in his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona! The first arrest was for driving on a suspended license, and then, six days later, he was arrested a second time for not having a valid registration.
All in all, Arie’s “criminal history” is about as inconsequential as it gets, so my guess it won’t play into Emily’s decision making process. Dating a Bachelorette producer, though – that could be a problem. It should be interesting to see how – or even if – ABC handles that one!
