The Board of Trustees at Penn State University went straight to the top by hiring former Director of the F.B.I. Louis Freeh to conduct an independent investigation of the school in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal. The results are now in and it’s hard to imagine that they could be anymore damning of late head football coaching legend Joe Paterno and other university heads. The conclusion is that these leaders, “failed to protect against a child sexual predator harming children for over a decade.”
Tosh.0 master of ceremonies Daniel Tosh has received some seriously harsh criticism following a rape joke he targeted at a female audience member. Read her version of what happened, the club owner’s version, and Daniel’s sort of apology that referenced dead babies. Katie Holmes just quickly settled a surprise divorce from Tom Cruise, and although there’s a lot of speculation that Tom’s fervent involvement with Scientology caused a huge problem problem for the marriage, especially as far as daughter Suri is involved, the Church of Scientology is said to have not been involved in their settlement negotiations. Scientology was also thought to have played a part in Tom’s split from second wife Nicole Kidman (and it also played a key role in his split from first wife Mimi Rogers, oddly enough all of Tom’s wives left him at the age of 33. That’s a coincidence, but it’s still a little weird.)
Now US Weekly has a source saying that Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman have been clandestinely talking on the phone (part of Katie’s stealth leaving the marriage involved her changing her getting a secret, disposable cell.)
The showdown continues between media giants Viacom and DirecTV as the the two sides continue to be unable to reach a new contract agreement, resulting in all of Viacom’s networks (including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon) to be unavailable to DirecTV subscribers since Tuesday night at midnight. In reaction to their subscribers outrage over not being able to see certain programs, DirecTV posted a list of “Other ways to watch” Viacom programming that included links to the programs that offered full episodes streaming on network sites. In an apparent reaction to those links, Viacom has since removed recent full-episode streaming content for some of its shows, including Teen Mom, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report.
