Why did Direct TV cancel MTV, Comedy Central and 24 other Viacom channels?

A whole new generation is going to be reviving the old slogan “I want my MTV!” as DirecTV is set to cancel the popular network along with 25 other Viacom channels tonight at midnight if the two companies can’t work out an agreement – soon! B2K singer Raz B is on tour over in China and dude nearly died in a beyond freakish accident that happened in his hotel room after a performance in Shanghai on Sunday. B tripped and while falling tried to brace himself but crashed through a glass door. When the glass shattered it totally mutilated his wrist. Normally we don’t see the covers until Wednesday, but with the combination of a universally hot blockbuster story and tomorrow being the Fourth of July (purely speculation on my part), we have all of the cover images a day early (except OK! for some reason). As you might expect, the TomKatastrophe is on the cover of every one, although three chose to delegate the biggest celebrity break up story since Prince Charles and Princess Diana to a secondary role behind “Jessica Simpson’s Diet Disaster,” “Best and Worst beach Bodies” and “The Queen Humiliates Kate Middleton.”
