Why did Direct TV cancel MTV, Comedy Central and 24 other Viacom channels?

A whole new generation is going to be reviving the old slogan “I want my MTV!” as DirecTV is set to cancel the popular network along with 25 other Viacom channels tonight at midnight if the two companies can’t work out an agreement – soon! KEep reading for both sides of the argument as well as a complete list of the channels that may not be there when you wake up tomorrow morning.

UPDATE – As of midnight DirecTV has suspended all the Viacom channels!

Scientology allegedly after South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone

In one of South Park’s most ambitious lampoonings they went after Scientology full bore in the 2005 episode, “Trapped in the Closet.” This gem exposed some of the considered bizarre teachings of the upper-level members of the religion and it apparently did not go unnoticed by the Scientology brass. Read from a memo revealed by defected member Marty Rathbun that allegedly exposes Scientology’s “Office of Special Affairs” probe into finding any “vulnerabilities” they might use against Parker and Stone.
