I’m a HUGE fan of HBO’s new series True Detective starring Matthew McConoughey and Woody Harrelson as two distinctly different detectives investigating a bizarre occult-like murder in the cane fields of Louisiana. However, my fandom is strictly reserved to watching the episodes every week, and doesn’t extend to the obsessive True Detective detective work being done online by fans and critics attempting to decipher the seemingly infinite number of clues and Easter eggs hidden throughout the show. Well, at least it didn’t until yesterday morning.
