It’s been rumored for months, and now it is officially confirmed — The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Kandi Burruss will be getting her off wedding spin-off! Bravo made the announcement during their 2014 Upfront presentation and in a press release earlier today.
Here’s the announcement and a brief description of the show, which has the very un-Andy Coheny working title The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi’s Wedding:
Produced by True Entertainment with Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Lauren Eskelin and Carlos King serving as Executive Producers. Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker also serve as Executive Producers.
You are cordially invited to celebrate the wedding of Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker. Against vocal family opposition that played out dramatically in season six of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi and Todd have decided to move forward and tie the knot. Each episode follows Kandi and Todd as they plan a larger-than-life “Coming to America” themed wedding ceremony, signifying the couple’s initial introduction in Africa.
In case you missed it, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker were married on Friday, April 4 in Atlanta at Le Fais do-do in Atlanta. Mama Joyce reportedly walked Kandi down the aisle — and of course she clashed with Todd.
The Bravo spin-off will actually be the second for Kandi, joining her music talent showcase/competition series The Kandi Factory.
Congratulations to Kandi!
* No, that is not the official promotional image for Kandi’s Wedding at the top of this post — it’s just a product of a little Photoshop fun.
