The Robertson family from Duck Dynasty issues an official statement addressing the suspension of patriarch Phil Robertson after his controversial comments about homosexuality and race in a new GQ interview. In the statement the family acknowledges Phil’s comments were “coarse” but adds that they were “grounded in the teachings of the Bible.” The statement then casts a shadow on the future of the series when it reveals the family is “in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty,” but that they “cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm.”

Phil Robertson’s suspension from Duck Dynasty in the wake of a new GQ interview in which Phil makes numerous negative comments about homosexuality and says black people in the South never complained “pre-entitlement” has angered some of the show’s conservative Christian fan base, and now there is an online petition that is being marketed with the hash tag #IStandWithPhil calling for his reinstatement. Tinley Park, Illinois Mayor Ed Zabrocki says MTV is not welcome on Tinley property while filming an episode of 16 and Pregnant featuring local resident Maddy Godsey. Polygamist Kody Brown and his family, stars of TLC’s Sister Wives reality series, filed a lawsuit in 2011 challenging the state of Utah’s anti-polygamy laws and on Friday U.S. District Court judge Clarke Waddoups issued his ruling on the case, declaring most all the laws to be unconstitutional and essentially legalizing polygamy. As we reported last night, Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans was arrested Saturday and booked for breach of peace after an alleged altercation with her boyfriend, and father of her unborn child, Nathan Griffith outside of their North Myrtle Beach home. Jenelle took to Twitter to say that the whole thing was a big misunderstanding and that Nathan was just talking on the phone. But, earlier today, North Myrtle Beach Police spokesperson Patrick Dowling revealed more information about the arrest from the police report which seems to indicate that Jenelle and Nathan were indeed involved in an argument.

Legendary country singer Ray Price, who is in the final stages of his battle with pancreatic cancer, has returned to his home in Mount Pleasant, Texas to be with his wife and family. Ray shared a “final message” with his fans yesterday, stating, “I love my fans and have devoted my life to reaching out to them. I appreciate their support all these years and I hope I haven’t let them down. I am at peace. I love Jesus. I’m going to be just fine. Don’t worry about me. I’ll see you again one day.”

Wednesday night A&E premieres its latest reality show venture Rodeo Girls starring a line up of easy-on-the-eyes female barrel racers as they navigate the professional rodeo circuit and all of its pitfalls — both in the rodeo ring and out. As is the case any time a preview trailer for a reality show features cast members in bikinis having a good time (Heaven forbid), there has been a pre-airing backlash against Rodeo Girls from some purists who insist the show isn’t an accurate portrayal of successful, hard-working rodeo girls, with suggestions that the women on the show aren’t even “real” professional rodeo girls. So, I did a little research to see just how accurate these accusations are.
It was revealed at the end of last week that Teen Mom 3 would not be returning for Season 2. Cast members from the show took to Twitter to express their disappointment over the news, and I figured I’d do the same from a fan’s perspective. In honor of the story of America’s most notorious outlaw couple being retold on the small screen, I thought I might gather together some of the best musical tributes to Bonnie & Clyde from over the nearly eight decades since they went on their headline-grabbing crime spree that lasted for years before both were shot and killed in an ambush in Bienville Parish, Louisiana on May 23, 1934.
After hearing the news that Teen Mom 3 had been cancelled by MTV the show’s cast members took to Twitter to express their disappointment. Briana DeJesus and Alex Sekella expressed their frustration over the fact that Teen Mom 2 is currently filming its fifth season, with Alex writing, “Guess we weren’t enough of train wrecks for it to be interesting. VH1 has released the first trailer for Couples Therapy Season 4 and the main focus appears to be on Teen Mom turned adult film star Farrah Abraham, who is appearing solo on the show in hopes of having Dr. Jenn Berman help her figure out why she can’t seem to sustain a relationship.
As we reported last month, the third installment of MTV’s Teen Mom franchise was not guaranteed to be back for a second season after having difficulty getting traction in the ratings combined with discontentment among some of the cast members about editing and how they were portrayed on the show. Judging from their Twitter feeds, it appears the Teen Mom 3 gals got the official word yesterday that MTV has decided to cancel the show and it would not be back for Season 2. Last night was the Mob Wives: New Blood premiere on VH1 and the ladies all got together for a premiere viewing party at the Greenhouse nightclub in Manhattan. As you might imagine, mixing the ladies of Mob Wives with booze and on-screen drama was a recipe for disaster, and disaster came in the form of a reported brutal catfight between new cast member Natalie Guercio and a female attendee, during which Natalie reportedly broke a bottle of booze on the head of a woman trying to break up the scuffle!
Amanda Bynes continues to get her life back in order after being placed on psychiatric hold and spending more than four months receiving inpatient treatment. The 27-year-old actress was photographed out and about again in California today, this time without the baseball hat she was seen wearing yesterday. During her very public meltdown Amanda seemed to have issue with showing her rear hair, so I’m going to be optimistic and assume this i a very positive sign! 🙂
