Oklahoma man accused of killing stepfather via “atomic wedgie”

33-year-old ex-Marine Brad Lee Davis was arrested and jailed yesterday on a first-degree murder complaint in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma following a December 21 brawl in which he told authorities he gave his stepfather, Denver St. Clair, an “atomic wedgie.” The medical examiner determined that St. Clair died from blunt force trauma to the head and asphyxiation “caused by the elastic underwear band being stretched over the decedent’s head and left around his neck.” Read on for the details of the alleged crime and quotes from the area Sheriff.

Two arrested after wedding ring stolen from hand of dying woman

Two men have been arrested and identified as police seek a third individual in a crime that ignited widespread outrage, leaving a family in Wichita, Kansas distraught and in disbelief. On December 29, 43-year-old Danielle Zimmerman was making a run to an area Taco Bell to pick up dinner for her husband, one of her two teenage sons and one of the latter’s friends. Tragically, Danielle suffered a fatal brain aneurysm and her truck collided with the chain restaurant’s speaker box. As she lay stricken in the vehicle, someone stole her iPhone, purse and most disturbingly — her wedding ring off of her finger as others arrived to try to assist her. Tonya Harding now: 20 years after the Nancy Kerrigan attack

20 years ago, on January 6, 1994, ice skater Nancy Kerrigan was clubbed in the knee, resulting in an injury that took her out of the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit, and ballooned into a massive scandal. As more details of the mysterious attack came to light, fellow skater Tonya Harding’s ex-husband Jeff Gillooly was found to have arranged for some men to break Kerrigan’s leg to take her out of the competition.

ESPN’s documentary film series 30 for 30 is devoting an episode, titled “The Price of Gold,” to catching up with Tonya Harding, and how the event has changed her life.
