If you’re not a sports person, or simply missed it, referee Jeff Maconaghy awarded Michigan a first down after bringing out the chains during this year’s Outback Bowl. The problem? The chain measurement unequivocally showed that the nose of the football was short. The old ball coach Steve Spurrier lost his collective mind and the blunder has resulted in a Facebook page dedicated to the requested firing of Maconaghy. It was such an obvious flub that even a child could see it. To prove the point, a proud daddy uploaded his 3-year-old explaining in detail why the call was flubbed. And man is she adorable while doing it!

The U.S. Navy has been dealing with the problematic usage of bath salts among its sailors and as a solution they have put together a PSA about the drug called, “BATH SALTS: It’s not a fad…It’s a NIGHTMARE.” In the clip a young man gets some bath salts in the mail, does a line of the drugs, vomits, sees his girlfriend as a deranged demon, punches her in the face, returns home and sees his roommate as a demon, passes out, ends up in the hospital, convulses and then gets tranquilized by a group of people in fatigues all while a catchy dance club mix plays. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. In the case of Brazilian teenager Rebecca Bernardo, it’s also an extremely disturbing act. 18-year-old Bernardo was inspired to auction off her virginity by fellow Brazilian Catarina Migliorini. Unlike Catarina, who was simply pursuing fame (and receiving $800,000 from the highest bidder), Rebecca says she’s doing this to assist with her ailing mother.
CNN has filed a disturbing report on the maligned FLDS church led by imprisoned Warren Jeffs. The report alleges that devout followers are preparing for the end times based on a declaration from Jeffs that the world will end before 2013. Whenever you have the mix of a cult leader, devout followers and talks of end times it should always be a cause for alarm. See the report and read a reaction from a former member who doesn’t seem to be too concerned.

Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer is a beloved Christmas story that first appeared in a 1939 booklet by Robert L. May. It truly entered the popular culture canon in 1949 with the song version first performed by Gene Autry, and most of us simply can’t live a Christmas without the 1964 stop-motion CBS television special adaptation.
Rudolph is bullied by his peers for having a bright red nose, but it’s this unique attribute that helps him land a gig with Santa Clause.
Now, scientists finally found the secret behind Rudolph’s glowing schnoz. If only they could find out how the reindeer are able to fly!
It doesn’t seem like it could be right for a boss to fire you because he’s too attracted to you, even if you behave in a professional manner and never flirt; but that’s exactly what happened to dental hygienist Melissa Nelson.
One of my favorite year-end lists is the CNN Hero project that highlights many people doing extraordinary things that I may not have otherwise known about. This was certainly the case for Catalina Escobar of Cartagena, Colombia. Escobar was volunteering her time at a local hospital in the town of Cartagena when a 12-day-old boy died in her arms. This was heartbreaking enough, but when she discovered his passing could have been prevented with a mere $30 she had in her pocket it was a situation she found untenable. This, combined with the tragic loss of her own son, led her to action and over the last decade she’s been credited with having saved over 2,000 babies. See her moving tribute video and find out how she’s doing much more as she looks to address the cycle of poverty for the teenage mothers for whom she cares about so passionately.
Soldiers Army Sgt. Drew Fidler (27) and his wife Army Spc. Michelle Williams (27) were featured on The Today Show Saturday morning for their unconventional nuptials.
They were both deployed to Afghanistan, but they were so much in love, they wanted to get married right away. Because weddings are not performed by military chaplains in combat zones, they found another way to get hitched before returning home.
Have you ever been so hungry that unwrapping your burger would just be entirely too time consuming? Well, you’re in luck. A fast food chain in Brazil called Bob’s has just created edible wrappers which will shed precious seconds off the time it takes customers to get their burgers off their trays and into their mouths.
Tis the season for random viral video thefts and so it was for Mr. Al Alverson from deep in the heart of Texas. Al had come home expecting the delivery of an iPad mini he had purchased as a Christmas gift for his daughter. When he discovered it was not there, he went to his surveillance footage and got a shock when he discovered why. It turns out that a UPS delivery dude who had brought a separate package had stolen the iPad mini that was delivered by a FedEx delivery dude earlier in the day. This IS NOT logistics my friends. See the crime after Al posted it to YouTube when he got no justice from UPS.
Camden, New Jersey, one of the deadliest towns in America, launched a gun buyback program on the same day as the Newtown massacre and officials on Tuesday stated that over 1,000 guns were sold back, no questions asked, setting a record. See a video report, some mind-boggling images of the weapons all together and why officials believe the recent tragedy at Sandy Hook was the catalyst for the record haul.

Yesterday 20 children and 6 adults were brutally murdered at an elementary school in the most deadly school shooting in history before the shooter Adam Lanza turned the gun on himself.
The grief that the families, friends, and the community is suffering is beyond measurable, but there are small ways to show your support and help.
UPDATE – Initial reports identifying 24-year-old Ryan Lanza of Hoboken as the shooter appear to have been premature and inaccurate. 20-year-old Adam Lanza, his younger brother is the shooting suspect. Ryan’s identification was found at the scene.
The main man over at Reality Blurred, Andy Dehnart, posted the following video of Storage Wars executive producer Thom Beers discussing how lines are sometimes written for the cast and how the storage units are sometimes altered for show. Now before you start saying, “I knew Dave Hester was right about all of this!” Please be aware that what Beers owns up to is a far cry from the many allegations the former cast member has brought about in litigation.
Last night (12-12-12) just about every living music legend anyone could think of performed at Madison Square Garden for a Hurricane Sandy Relief concert. Producers of the show say that more than 2 billion people tuned in to watch the rousing and epic show.
A 33-year-old woman from Panama named Yeraldina was stopped in Barcelona, Spain on a flight from Bogata, Colombia to investigate two bandaged and bloody wounds under her breasts. Madonna is consoled by dreams of her daughters, and her belief in heaven; while Matt firmly believes that there must be a reason why everything in their lives led up to this horrific fire.
We have covered a seemingly bottomless amount of new reality shows over the years we’ve been up and posting. I can say, without hesitation, that never have I seen more backlash and all around grumbling about an as-yet-aired show than what MTV’s Buckwild is facing. Find out why a Senator is requesting that the network cancel the “travesty” and why I think his argument is hogwash.
39-year-old Florida resident Gretchen Molannen committed suicide over the weekend because she’s suffered from a rare genital arousal disorder that gave up her up 50 uncontrollable orgasms a day for 16 years.
Count me in as one of the millions of fans of the hit show The Walking Dead. While I get pretty passionate about Officer Rick Grimes and the gang I do not take it as seriously as 26-year-old Jared Gurman from Williston Park, New York does. No where even close apparently. Find out how an argument about the show ended up with Gurman’s girlfriend being shot in the back, find out her current condition and what Gurman is now claiming happened.
Hoarders is renowned for its ability to shock viewers with its look into the tragic lives of those who suffer terribly from the sickness of hoarding. Every once in a while they’ll feature an episode that has me thinking, “They’ll never manage to out-disturb me with any episode again.” Then, they unleashed the living nightmare that is Terry the cashier’s reality last night.
Just in case you needed yet another reminder that meth is bad, check out these two mug shots of Melissa Wolf of Eaton, Ohio taken just 17 months apart, the second of which was taken on Monday after police raided her home and found materials used to cook meth.
One of the many things people do to make themselves look different than their natural state is get butt injections, and butt implants. We’ve seen what happens with butt injections are done incorrectly, but now there’s an anonymous video making the rounds of what can happen with booty implants.
The latest video making the viral rounds is an elevator prank from a Brazilian TV show, The Silvio Santos Program. It’s brilliant and flat out frightening at the same time. First there was planking, then there was Batmanning and Tebowing, and now there’s a similar new trend developing in the U.K. that’s really gross: “milking.” Basically you pour a bunch of milk on your head (or have someone do it for you) and take photos and video of the event to post on the internet. People on the internet are so grossed out and mesmerized by the event that they like and share and write articles about it.First there was planking, then there was Batmanning and Tebowing, and now there’s a similar new trend developing in the U.K. that’s really gross: “milking.” Basically you pour a bunch of milk on your head (or have someone do it for you) and take photos and video of the event to post on the internet. In a shocking post-trial bombshell it has been revealed that prosecutors in the murder trial of Casey Anthony overlooked a Google search for the terms “fool-proof suffication” on her computer on the last day her daughter Caylee Anthony was seen alive. The internet history then shows the user clicked on a link to a site criticizing websites promoting suicide that included the quote “Poison yourself and then follow it up with suffocation” by placing “a plastic bag over the head.” As you may know, Caylee Anthony was allegedly poisoned and then suffocated. The search was reportedly missed because investigators for the prosecution only checked the computer’s Internet Explorer browser history and not the Firefox browser used almost exclusively by Casey Anthony after March of 2008.
Not only has Santa Clause been enjoying his tobacco pipe for centuries, he’s also enjoyed some time helping out advertising execs by selling cigarettes in the mid-20th century. But now Santa’s tobacco days are over!
Hardcore Pawn is branching out from The Motor City over to The Windy City as the successful franchise for truTV looks to cash in on further ratings gold. Hardcore Pawn: Chicago will revolve around the Cohen brothers (no, not the famous directors -that’s Coen), but Randy and Wayne, co-owners of Royal Jewelers and Loans. Read on for info about the show and photos of the cast including Elyse and Nathan Cohen.
Apparently there is a a masked Super-Hero-Dumbass stalking the streets of Merced, California. See the memorable mug shot left by Spider-Moron Daniel James Bradley following a completely forgettable attempt at snatching a purse while rocking a Spider-Man costume. Sometimes all we can do is marvel at the intricate web of stupidity criminals often weave.
20-year-old Missouri man Blaec Lammers was charged Friday morning with “first-degree assault, making a terroristic threat and armed criminal action” after his mother contacted authorities over her concern that he was planning a massacre at a local Twilight screening.

People much smarter than this here blogger at Yale’s “baby lab” have discovered that little cutie pies as young as 3-months-old may be able to ascertain right from wrong. You read that correctly. So if you ever get that feeling like those big ol’ eyes are watching and judging you like I sometimes do, well, you just may be right. Watch an interesting video preview for the story to be featured on this week’s edition of 60 Minutes.
Hostess Brands Inc. is making a move to liquidate its assets and go out of business because they claim a labor strike has forced their hand. This blogger is inconsolable as he considers the possible death of Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Sno Balls.
James Holmes, the man responsible for the horrific Aurora theater massacre that took 12 lives and injured 58 others, has been hospitalized after lackluster attempts at taking his own life.
What do you get when you mix a national sex scandal and a lazy editor at a local television station? An unemployed editor (probably) and a hilarious viral video! Check out this video report on David Petraeus’ biographer and alleged mistress Paula Broadwell on Denver’s KMGH ABC 7 in which they briefly show an image…
Even though weight loss is really a simple thing (reduce calories in, and increase calories burned) it’s a difficult thing for a human to do, so we’re constantly looking for quick-fix alternatives. We try to find chemicals that taste like sugar, reduce our appetitive, mess with our sense of smell, or increase our metabolism to make the process easier for us. Now Pepsi is introducing a soda to the Japenese market that claims to “block fat.”
What’s the secret ingredient?
While the world of celebridom has been moving along just fine a scandal has been rocking the top offices of U.S. Government and each day reveals a new seemingly incredible layer. Read on for what is sure to become the best political thriller for years, including photos of all the players involved in the scandal and otherwise.

What can brown do for you? One thing that shipping giant UPS will no longer be doing is donating money to the Boy Scouts of America due to that organization’s stance against gay scouts or leaders. Read on for the official statement from UPS in regards to this decision.
Every once in a while celebrities throw down with some wonderfully random Twitter wars. We’ve covered our share but this may me the most slapdash and favorite one I’ve done. CNN news anchor Don Lemon felt dissed by 21 Jump Street star Jonah Hill and took his frustrations to social media. Seriously. Don Lemon vs. Jonah Hill!?! Apparently Don bumped into Hill at a hotel and got his feeling hurt after he felt dissed while attempting to exchange pleasantries. This is when things got all nasty up in virtual here. Read the digs and decide if you’re with Team Lemon-head or Team Hill-toppers.
It appears that Lance Armstrong has himself a new mantra: Livesmug. The 41-year-old disgraced cyclist was recently stripped of his seven Tour de France victories because of doping, but being stripped of the titles apparently doesn’t mean Lance had to return his yellow jerseys because he posted a photo lounging in front of them on Twitter over the weekend along with the tweet, “Back in Austin and just layin’ around…”
You win some and you lose some and then sometimes you end up with a permanent face tattoo of said loss. Well, that happens if you’re independent pro-wrestler Eric Hartsburg from Michigan City, Indiana. “Erico” auctioned off his face and now has a permanent Ryan/Romney logo inked to his countenance. Read on for his reaction post election and why the 30-year-old father of one has no regrets.
A Spanish toy company that offers a breastfeeding doll complete with sucking noises is having trouble getting the toy on U.S. store shelves. Is the doll inappropriate, or educational?
One woman died and 19 others were injured during a Linkin Park concert on Wednesday in Cape Town, South Africa when a wind gust blew down a promotional billboard. Although the concert went on as planned, the band later released a statement of condolences for those injured and to the family of the woman who passed.
While the big story from last night’s election was the victory of Barack Obama, a couple of western states snuck in a little “you know what” laws while the rest of us weren’t looking. The people of Colorado and Washington have voted to legalize the recreational use of marijuana. It’s a major breakthrough in the long fight for legalization of cannabis but don’t go whipping out your bongs and calling up Willie and Snoop just yet. As always, there’s a catch.
All of these endless political ads could make a person cry… Actually they have done just that as 4-year-old Abigael Evans has had enough of all of this Bronco Bamma and Mitt Romney mess. See her adorable video that mom uploaded and read NPR’s apology. We are Starcasm and we approve Abby’s message.

Read the company’s statement and let us know what you think of the decision considering they still endorse Michael Vick and Tiger Woods.
If you grew up in the south like I did just about everyone has some sort of “fight at Waffle House” tale to tell. They’re usually memorable but I doubt many will have the lasting effect that the following clip will. Things break bad when a lone man hurls a gay insult – and when I say break bad, they break bad for the dude. See said dude get his eggs scrambled at the Dub-House.
What could go wrong at a butt pumping party? Only everything.
