In Season 4 of Teen Mom 2 we got to see Leah Messer (now Calvert) and Jeremy Calvert’s beautiful rainy day wedding ceremony in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. But, one thing we didn’t get to see was Leah’s aunt Mendy Mullins singing a song she wrote just for the ceremony. Mendy recently posted a video of herself performing the song, titled “Always and Forever,” on Youtube and Leah excitedly shared the clip with her friends on Facebook and Twitter.

Actually, Leah teased the clip a bit at first to encourage folks to check out Mendy’s Youtube channel with some of her other performances, and in the teaser Leah reveals that Mendy will be writing and performing “a song of my journey with my girls, and the struggles of being a mommy to a child with special needs.”

After a very positive response from her fans, Leah delivered on her promise and shared the Youtube clip below of Mendy performing “Always and Forever.” Here it is followed by the lyrics:

With you I’ve learned to trust
and with you I have grown
to the beauty of compassion
something I’ve never known
I don’t have to hide my feelings
or put on a disguise
because when you look at me
I feel perfect in your eyes

Ohhhhhh baby
you are my hero
I know the warmth of your smile
you’re the passion I hold inside
I gaze in delight
to have you in my life
always and forever

I prayed to God for love so true
I realized He already knew
that you were love for three
my babies and me
Well it sure feels so right
you say “I love you” every night
you’re my lover, my best friend
and I love you til the end

Ohhhhhh baby
you are my hero
I know the warmth of your smile
you’re the passion I hold inside
I gaze in delight
to have you in my life
always and forever

Oh baby
always and forever
Oooooooooo
always and forever

After sharing the “Always and Forever” clip Leah began getting a lot of questions about Mendy, so she did a video interview and tipped us off about it. 🙂 So here’s that interview in which we get a little background info on Mendy, including her story about trying out for American Idol!

Thanks to Leah for sharing the song and doing the interview — and thanks to Mendy for writing and performing the great song for Leah and Jeremy’s wedding. We’ll be sure to keep our ears out for that biographical song about Leah! (Perhaps MTV could play it over the Teen Mom 2 Season 5 finale closing montage.)
