When Miley Cyrus recently discussed her controversial and extremely successful music video for “Wrecking Ball” she stated that Sinead O’Connor’s classic video for her hit “Nothing Compares 2U” was a major inspiration. At the opening of the clip that’s apparent, with the tight face shots and expressed emotions but then the video morphs into sledgehammer licking and nude swinging on demolition equipment. O’Connor had apparently been contacted by a number of reporters asking what her take was and the candid Irish star decided to answer with a searing open letter that pulls absolutely no punches. It could be argued that it’s from the point of view of the paparazzi, or the star, or a that it switches at some point, but for me it always seems to almost be both at the same time. Of course, all of that is in the song, but it turns out the true heart of the song, the true inspiration is Lady Gaga’s unrequited love for ex-boyfriend Luc Carl.

Man wins singer-songwriter contest after penning song for late wife of 73 years

When Green Shoe Studio out of East Peoria, Illinois hosted a singer-songwriting contest they never could have imagined the mailed-in contribution by 96-year-old Fred Stobaugh. A song he penned for his late wife of 73 years entitled “Oh Sweet Lorraine” won their hearts and the contest and has since gone on to become a viral hit that has touched the millions who’ve come across his story. Mug shot photos of 2 Chainz and 10 others arrested after OK tour bus stand off

Rapper 2 Chainz and ten others were arrested early this morning after their tour bus was stopped by police in Oklahoma City right around midnight for a busted tail light. Officers reportedly noticed “signs of drug use” and asked those in the bus to exit, but they refused and demanded a search warrant. The locked bus (with the men still in it) was towed to the police training center while officers went through the process of getting a search warrant. The warrant was obtained around 9AM, at which point the eleven men (including 2 Chainz) exited the bus and were arrested for misdemeanor complaints of obstruction.
