You’ve seen him. You’ve heard him (although you may have thought he was the Backstreet Boys at first). But just how much do you really know about Austin Mahone?
If you’re not a “Mahomie” (that’s the term Austin came up with to describe his biggest fans), you might not know that the 17-year-old singer was discovered on YouTube in 2011, and because of that and is sometimes called “the second coming of Justin Bieber.” His latest single, “What About Love” reached number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
So, what about love? The burning question on most Mahomies’ minds is regarding 17-year-old Austin’s love life. Is he dating anyone? He was linked to Justin’s ex Selena Gomez after the two were seen canoodling backstage at the VMAs, but insiders say the two are just friends.Hmm. Perhaps they were merely moved by Miley Cyrus’ performance with Robin Thicke?
The two have also been spotted hanging out in Disneyland, and were rumored to have been set up by Selena’s BFF, Taylor Swift. Given how Taylor feels about Justin, it’s safe to say that if this is true, Austin is indeed much more than Bieber 2.0.
