2011 MTV Video Music Awards scored highest VMA ratings ever

MTV’s annual Video Music Awards pulled in 12.4 million viewers last night, which was up 9% from last year and registers as the most watched VMA show ever. But, it wasn’t just the most-watched VMAs, it was the most watched show in MTV history! Despite the great numbers, most of the reviews of the telecast suggest it was a rather lackluster affair. Top Four normal-ish Lady Gaga outfits

Lady Gaga usually either runs around in her underwear, like a deli, or in some sort of contraption not shaped for a human (or any mammal or creature walking this earth.) It’s often entertaining, but rarely functional.

Now, thought Gaga is doing the most shocking thing of all: dressing in clothes that real human women could wear; fancy, flamboyant, human women, but real, biological women all the same. She’s still unleashing with the interesting colors and designs (like the gorgeous houndstooth-to-toe number that evoked Glenn Close’s Cruella DeVille,) but she’s also been spotted out in just heels and a little black dress.

In the pop universe “stars” come and go yet somehow the master of the parody song, Weird Al Yankovic, manages to maintain relevancy decade after decade.

His latest work is a spoof of the biggest pop star on the planet now Lady Gaga as he turns her anthemic “Born This Way” on its head as a song all about Mother Monster called “Perform This Way.” This is his first single in 5 years and one that almost didn’t happen. How did Lady Gaga top Oprah on the Forbes Celebrity 100 List?

When you look at the 2011 Forbes Celebrity rankings, the first thing that pops out at you is that Oprah isn’t on top and Gaga is. Celebs react as California’s Proposition 8 is overturned

San Francisco – Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker overturned the voter-approved same-sex marriage ban known as Proposition 8 Wednesday, declaring that limiting marriage to a man and a woman serves no legitimate purpose and is an “artifact” rooted in “unfounded stereotypes and prejudices.”
