Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s older sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Thompson was back in the hospital this week with further complications stemming from the family’s car accident back in early January. “Mama June” Shannon shared the news on Facebook early in the AM hours this morning explaining that the family was driving back home after dinner when Pumpkin, 14, got headaches, then felt nauseous and passed out several times.

Tonight was the season premiere of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo as America’s favorite redneck family made their triumphant return to the small screen with two back-to-back episodes. In the second episode, appropriately titled “The Birds and the Boos,” Mama June tried talking to her three older daughters about sex — a conversation chock full of anatomical Mama Junisms ranging from “fruit loop” (vagina) to ting tangs (breasts). Thankfully (or perhaps not), TLC producers created an Operation-inspired visual guide to the human female anatomy according to Mama June that illustrates exactly what’s what.

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and “Mama June” Shannon are currently in Los Angeles making the media rounds (and otherwise continuing to take over the planet) and kicked today off with an early morning stop at KTLA for an interview with Sam Rubin and Jessica Holmes. Always a seemingly uncontainable bundle of energy, Honey Boo Boo was even more so during the interview as she went from fervently dueling Rubin in Rock, Paper, Scissors to belting out her own version of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” — all while Mama June was trying to answer questions about the show.

The ratings are in and it’s official: Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is a smash hit! TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras spin-off starring the beautimous and sassified six-year-old Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson hit the ground running with just over 2 million people tuning in to the series premiere on August 8, with very little drop off the next week. The success seems to have TLC scrambling as they are now back in McIntyre, Georgia (Honeyboobootropolis) hoping to add more episodes to the six originally announced back in May. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo matriarch June Shannon is quickly becoming a huge celebrity thanks to her uncouth carefree attitude and quotes like this: “Granted, I ain’t the most beautimous out the box, but a little paint on this barn, shine it back to its original condition.
