It was revealed at the end of last week that Teen Mom 3 would not be returning for Season 2. Cast members from the show took to Twitter to express their disappointment over the news, and I figured I’d do the same from a fan’s perspective. After hearing the news that Teen Mom 3 had been cancelled by MTV the show’s cast members took to Twitter to express their disappointment. Though Teen Mom 3 reportedly finished filming months ago, it appears that MTV is going back to having nearly a one-year delay between taping and airing as the latest reports are that the new installment won’t premiere until August. This time last year, commercials featuring a pregnant cheerleader named Mackenzie Douthit were all over MTV, promoting the fourth season of 16 & Pregnant. The first episode of the season followed Mackenzie and her adrenaline loving boyfriend Josh McKee as they welcomed son Gannon. Her story was such a hit that MTV chose her as one of four girls to star in the upcoming series Teen Mom 3. Unfortunately, after months of planning a move to southern California and an April wedding, Mackenzie and Josh have called it quits.
The fourth season of 16 and Pregnant featured Mackenzie Douthit, a cheerleader from rural Oklahoma, as she carried, delivered and began raising her son, Gannon. What the show didn’t mention was that the pregnancy was actually Douthit’s second. Tragically, she had a late-term miscarriage just before getting pregnant with Gannon.

Earlier this year, MTV announced that four girls from the fourth season of 16 & Pregnant would be chosen for the all new series and while many reports and incriminating photos have surfaced since then, we finally know for sure which of the girl’s lives we will be following.

Yesterday MTV unveiled a two-minute preview trailer for the upcoming fourth season of 16 and Pregnant and last night during the Teen Mom 2 Finale Special with Dr. Drew the network showed two additional commercials with footage not in the preview trailer, including one that featured just Mackenzie Douthit, leading many to think hers may be the first episode to air on March 27.
