Khloe Kardashian Odom, the hands-down favorite Kardashian/Jenner according to starcasm.net followers on Twitter and Facebook, is undergoing IVF treatments to help her conceive with husband Lamar Odom (or, as Khloe calls him, Lam-Lam.)
Older sis Kourtney Kardashian is having her second baby with long-time boyfriend Scott Disick, and Khloe can’t wait to give Mason and his-sibling-on-the-way a cousin!
Khloe has been trying to have a baby for a long time, and while she wants a baby for herself, but she also says she gets a lot of pressure from everyone else, including her family, the media and fans.
Khloe told US Weekly about her worries:
“People keep saying, ‘Why aren’t you pregnant yet?’ That’s what scares me, when people are like ‘Did you go to the doctor? Do you know if everything’s working?’ It’s nerve-racking. Sometimes I feel like I’m letting everyone down.”
Don’t care about everyone else, Khloe! Just do you!
She’s been off of birth control for a while, but still hasn’t been able to conceive, so she’s currently prepping for IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatments, which will be a major plotline in her reality show with Lamar on E! The treatments cost about $10,000 – $15,000 a pop, and can take multiple tries to work. Fellow E! star Guiliana Rancic has documented on her Style Network reality show Guiliana and Bill her heart-wrenching unsuccessful struggle to have children with the help of IVF, but has put that dream on hold to combat breast cancer in both breasts.
Khloe’s also always having to deal with stressing over the press speculating that she’s pregnant all the time, which makes her self-conscious about her body. She’s afraid that all the weight scrutiny will just get worse when she actually gets pregnant, telling US “When I am actually pregnant, are people going to say I’m this big, giant elephant?”
Khloe is hilarious, and her relationship with Lamar seems so genuine and sweet. They’d probably make amazing and loving parents! Lamar, who is probably being traded out of L.A. to the New Orleans Hornets, already has two children with ex-girlfriend (and childhood sweetheart) Liza Morales. Daughter Destiny is 13, and Lamar Jr. is 10. Liza and Lamar also had another child, Jayden, who died of SIDS @ 7 months in 2006.
Things aren’t always simpatico between Lamar and his ex Liza, Khloe says that he’s a good dad to his kids, and that she tries hard to be a good stepmother. After her parents’ divorce Khloe says she dealt with some potential “stepmonsters” dating her dad Robert Kardashian who tried to replace her mom Kris, and spoke badly about her. “I try to just show everybody that I love them, but not to the point where anyone feels uncomfortable. It’s still tricky. I love and respect children so much that I’d never want them to feel threatened or confused.”
