At the finale of Welcome to Plathville Season 4 we find out that Ethan and Olivia Plath will soon be living apart after their lease ends for their Tampa, FL rental. Ethan had plans to live in Cairo for three months to work on his cars and doubts that Olivia will want to join him. Are they living together now? Are they even still married?

Welcome to Plathville’s Kim Plath is staying out of the family’s main home because she finds it hard to live in the same house as Barry. Lydia confronted her about the fact that the three youngest daughters still need their mother in the house. In many ways, Lydia, who is a grown adult with a full-time job, has picked up a lot of the mother role in the house. Now that the family is discussing the fact that dad Barry will soon move out of the family’s main home, Lydia is considering moving in with him instead of staying with mom Kim and the younger siblings.

On tonight’s episode of Welcome to Plathville Olivia Plath reveals more details about why she has such strong boundaries with her mother-in-law Kim Plath. In short, she feels used by Kim, but there’s a lot more to that story. One of the reasons Olivia feels used by Kim is because Olivia says Kim was using Ethan’s credit cards when he was 20 years old and locked him out of his account.

During this fourth season of Welcome to Plathville we’ve seen mom Kim Plath start spending a lot of time out of the family home in order to follow her own path. She opened up a dance studio, decided she wanted a divorce from Barry after 24 years of marriage, and is in general on a path to finding herself. For a while, she was spending more time at the family’s various rental properties than at home. A big problem with that, however, is that she still continues to home school her minor children. Without Kim at home older sister Lydia had to pick up the slack on schooling.

The Plath family’s oldest girl is mentioned in an episode of Welcome to Plathville airing tonight. During a memorial for Plath family sibling Joshua, who died as a toddler in a tragic farm accident, father Barry mentioned that he hoped that someday both Olivia Plath (Ethan’s wife,) and Hosanna would join the family. Where is Hosanna Plath now?

In Season 4 Kim Plath has given her family, and viewers of Welcome to Plathville, a bit of whiplash by backtracking on her behavior and “rules” for her family. For decades Kim and Barry Plath lived mostly outside of society and shunned alcohol, sugar, all mainstream media, and most interaction with the outside world. Now, Kim has completely changed, is divorcing Barry, and no longer has such strict expectations for her children.

Over drinks with her son Micah, Kim explains that a personal trauma could have caused her to be overprotective of her children.

21-year-old Micah Plath is definitely the most adventurous of his siblings, and he seems to have no intention of settling down romantically. He’s currently living a nomadic couch-surfing life and spending most of his time in Los Angles, CA trying to make it as a model. He’s made it clear that he’s playing the field pretty heavily, but has shot scenes for the show with a vibrant young woman named Antia. Are the pair dating, or it this more of a “showmance?”

This season of Welcome to Plathville has seen a startling change in matriarch Kim Plath. After over two decades of living a life secluded from the secular world, she seemingly changed on a dime. She’s now listening to new music, drinking, giving her children sugar, and even opened a dance studio. On top of all of that, Kim is initiating a divorce from her husband Barry. Why did their marriage fall apart?
