Kim Kardashian so eloquent about failed marriage Oprah ‘could weep’

Kim Kardashian interviewed by Oprah Winfrey

It’s quite a statement about the current state of affairs in television when Oprah Winfrey’s network is seriously struggling while the Kardashians keep trucking on with ratings gold. One met the other last night as Oprah featured the Kardashian clan on her show Oprah’s Next Chapter.

The headliner was Kim Kardashian of course as last night viewers were given the rather strange site of a very serious Oprah interviewing a very serious Kim K. The big topic was the reality TV mega-star’s failed marriage to Kris Humphries.

“I was in such a deep depression I thought I was going to back away from it all. You know when you just have that feeling that he’s the one? When we moved in I had the feeling he was not the one.”

Oprah did press Kim on the speculation that the nuptials were a sham for ratings and Kim had what seemed like a very well prepared and rehearsed answer.

“If anything, the tough decision to end that relationship was such a risk of losing ratings, losing my fan base, but I had to take that risk for myself. I’ve obviously made plenty of mistakes in my lifetime, but I’m not the type to sit and beat myself up over it. If a real lesson was learned, I’m so okay with having experienced that.”

Oprah replied, “That is so perfect I could weep.”

Here’s a clip from the one on one between Oprah and Kim where Kim talks about learning from her sister Kourtney’s pregnancy and how she’s had an epiphany about how she wants to live her life now:

Kim did leave things on a positive not when discussing Humphries, “He’s a good person. I will always have a place in my heart for him. It just wasn’t for me.”

On Sunday Oprah will air part 2 of her Kardashian-fest which promises to include Kim’s comments in regards to her budding relationship with Kanye West.
