Ryan Edwards & Mackenzie Standifer wedding do-over details
Teen Mom OG dad Ryan Edwards and wife Mackenzie Standifer had one of the most cringe-worthy weddings in reality show history last season, as Ryan was clearly high when he and Mackenzie said “I do” in an impromptu ceremony attended only by Ryan’s dad and weeping mother. (Fans will recall the disturbing scene in which Ryan drove to the ceremony while clearly under the influence.)
As we were the first to report, Ryan and Mackenzie’s official nuptials took place on May 15 — and now, six months later, the bride and groom are preparing for a do-over with a full-fledged wedding ceremony attended by friends and family (and MTV) this weekend.
Their new wedding date was first revealed before their original ceremony in May, thanks to the couple signing up for a Pottery Barn wedding registry with a wedding date of November 18. That date has since been confirmed by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, who also revealed that the new ceremony will be featured on Teen Mom OG.
“They will be filming at the wedding, and a crew has been there capturing the pre-wedding stuff too,” an MTV crew source told The Ashley. “For awhile [production] wasn’t sure if Ryan and Mackenzie would allow the wedding to be filmed, since they declined to come to Los Angeles to film the special with the rest of the cast in October, and some other things. But [we] are filming it.”
The Ashley’s source reveals that Ryan’s son Bentley will be in attendance, as will Mackenzie’s son Hudson. It’s unclear if Maci McKinney will be there, although, at this point, all signs suggest she’s skipping out. That sounds about right, given that the bridge between Maci and Mackenzie seems to have been burned beyond repair, especially after Mackenzie read her “open letter”–in which she accused Maci of exploiting Ryan on the show by talking about his drug issues–on last season’s Reunion Special.
This weekend’s wedding ceremony also suggests that Mackenzie and Ryan have patched things up after the whole “Tinder trap queen” scrotograph controversy earlier this year — the fallout from which spawned reports in August that Ryan had moved out and was planning to file for divorce.
So, congratulations are in order for #Ryenzie being able to work things out! We hope that their do-over wedding will go off a little better than the first one. Oh, and if you want to get the couple a gift, that Pottery Barn registry is still open. (It looks like they still need some napkin rings and an orange pool towel.)
