The Kylie Jenner college rumors are true: the eighteen-year-old says she isn’t going to college because she’s just too busy making money. The reality TV star further says her intention is to be a businesswoman first and foremost, and that a college education would only hinder her efforts.
Kylie broke the news in a sit-down with Interview magazine, for which she is the most recent cover story. Her photo shoot had already generated considerable controversy–among other scenarios, Kylie gallivants about with no pants, sits on an assortment of young men (as in the image above), and feigns needing a wheelchair–but it’s her statements about higher education that appear to be drawing the most criticism.
Kylie did not discuss her ideas for a “pajama-chic” clothing line–which she recently modeled in the image above–but shared her thoughts on college near the interview’s end. You can read the exchange in full on Interview’s page; here’s the most relevant portion:
WALLACE: Are you good with money? Does that part of business excite you?
JENNER: No.
WALLACE: [laughs] Well, there are people for that. You’re 18 right now, right? Are you prepping for college?
JENNER: I’m not going to college. I have done everything to prepare for college, so if I wanted to in the future, I could go at any time. But I’m not planning on going anytime soon. [voice heard in the background] Kim just said, “Good girl!”
WALLACE: [laughs] Well, these questions were basically the SATs, so I think you’re good.
Elsewhere in the interview, Kylie says that her goal for 2016 is to learn how to garden; that when she turns 30 she wants “to go off the map, have a family, and live in Malibu with a farm, and just raise my own chickens”; and that she recently “realized that I’m 18, I’m a female, and I have accomplished so much. I live in a beautiful home and I work really hard, so I’m just grateful.”
Kylie Jenner’s most recent brush with a classroom (of sorts) came back in July, when she graduated from online high school Laurel Springs, and celebrated with a diploma shot by the pool:
Graduation gifts included a $33,000 Rolex watch, a $7,300 Cartier bracelet, and a performance by a troupe of synchronized swimmers.
Before that, the closest Kylie had come to a college experience was her reconciliation picnic with Tyga this past May. After being broken up with for the first time, Tyga wooed Kylie back by getting her name tattooed on his arm, and taking her for a romantic luncheon and stroll about the campus of Cal State-Fullerton, a school Tyga neither attends nor attended earlier in life.
Kylie Jenner’s net worth has reportedly doubled over the course of the past year; she’s estimated to be worth at least four million dollars.
