The latest Rob Kardashian update sees a swirl of unanswered questions hanging over the man’s head as his family reportedly goes to war over how to best take care of him. Rob’s recent medical problems have divided his family: some, including several of his siblings, are pushing for gastric bypass surgery to help Rob deal with his alleged diabetes and weight problems; others–mother Kris Jenner foremost among them–are said to be in favor of commitment in a psychiatric care facility.
An earlier Rob Kardashian update from this week brought the startling news that Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner is allegedly considering commitment for her son, whose problems, in her eyes, run much deeper than mere overeating. Kris reportedly believes that Rob is a danger to himself, as well as others, and thinks a “5150 hold“–a legal declaration of that danger, with transferral of Rob’s rights to a licensed care provider–might be the best course of action.
That possibility has brought out some strong opposing opinions from other members of the family. Kim Kardashian, in particular, is taking Rob’s Type 2 diabetes diagnosis seriously, but is said to see the matter as one of physical health, and not necessarily mental well-being. But, while Kim hasn’t offered a solution of her own, Khloe is reportedly “sickened” by the “cold” attitude both her mother and Kim are taking. In Khloe’s mind, sources say, the problem needs an immediate solution–and one that feels like it was thought up by loved ones, rather than impartial judges.
Khloe may have taken matters into her own hands to some extent–and irked her family in the process–when she helped convince Rob that gastric bypass surgery is something he should undergo. In fact, once Rob agreed thanks to pressure and cajoling from Khloe, Kris herself changed her mind, and allegedly booked the procedure herself, in an attempt at showing solidarity in front of her son.

It’s not yet known exactly when Rob will undergo the procedure–or whether Kris has changed her mind about a psychiatric hospital.
