Kimye have been missing from the headlines lately following the birth of the royal baby, but now they’re back because they’re building their own American Palace fit for royalty, complete with golden toilets. Watch the throne indeed.
The new parents of North “Nori” West are renovating a $11 million Bel Air estate, and they are not scrimping on furnishing for their new love nest. They’ve already spent $1.14 million on six Savoir Royal State Beds, known as the world’s most expensive bed, according to The Daily Mail. The “Royal” part isn’t just an empty descriptive: there were only 60 limited-edition beds made in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee.
Each bed’s canopy is covered in the same kind of silk used in Hermes ties, and the beds themselves are made from a combination of “cashmere, carded Virgin lamb’s wool and Mongolian horse hair laid over hand tied, star-lashed springs.” Hundreds of hours of labor went into the making of each one, and Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Elton John and Oprah all own at least one of them.
Even though the beds were made in honor of the British Queen, Kim and Kanye personalized them by having their own coat of arms made by the Royal School of Needlework included on each bed.
The couple also splashed down $750,000 on gold-plated toilets, and the opulence doesn’t stop there! Little Nori will be getting her juice boxes from a Swarovski-encrusted refrigerator. It wouldn’t be surprising if nearly everything in this home is Swarovski crystal-encrusted. Hope their interior decorator’s Be-Dazzler is sturdy.
