The second part of Breaking Amish: Brave New World “The Shunning Truth” aired Sunday night and it delivered yet another hour packed with catch-up drama! It seems aspiring super model Kate Stoltzfus isn’t the only Breaking Amish cast member working towards establishing a career outside of reality television. The cast’s resident eligible bachelor Jeremiah Raber is testing the waters of “English” entrepreneurialism by making personal appearances and signing “Jeremiah says do your freakin’ homework!” t-shirts. Plus, he recently announced plans to open an “Amish baked goods retail store.”
TLC announced in April that they would be introducing viewers to a whole new batch of young men and women looking to leave behind their Amish and Mennonite communities for the big city in a second season of their popular “reality” series Breaking Amish, this time set in Los Angeles instead of New York City. Actually, the new cast isn’t completely “new” because it features Iva, who played the part of Jeremiah’s girlfriend in the first season of Breaking Amish! (The second part will air next week in which the cast answer questions about all of the off-screen questions that arose surrounding the cast.) It was revealed a couple weeks ago that Breaking Amish cast member Jeremiah Raber and ex-wife Naomi Stutzman had a volatile relationship that resulted in numerous claims of abuse by Stutzman. According to a report by Pennsylvania’s CBS 21, there are at least 17 separate police reports involving Raber, eight of which were for domestic violence. Now, apparently thanks to Jeremiah himself, we have some of the details from the reports that didn’t have to do with domestic violence.
There are only two more episodes of TLC’s Breaking Amish reality series, and it appears that the parade of skeletons exiting the cast members’ closets is finally coming to a close. (Although there is still time for the inevitable sex tape to emerge.) Today’s entry in the “Faking Amish Files” is minor compared to the numerous arrests, former marriages, children, and other sindiscretions from these supposedly “fresh off the farm” Amish and Mennonite youths, but it does have significance in that it pointedly discredits a major aspect of the show.
We’re only halfway through the premiere season of TLC’s unreality series Breaking Amish and we’ve already found our third mug shot photo of a cast member prior to his or her appearance on the show.
