In the latest Lamar Odom update, former estranged wife Khloe Kardashian comes clean regarding the reasons the pair called off their pending divorce. Ever the realist, Khloe says her motives were pragmatic, not romantic, and that no observer should confuse the two. In related news, Rob Kardashian has offered his ailing brother-in-law a kidney, along with some sweet words of comfort.
Khloe broke her long silence and offered her own Lamar Odom update in a new interview with People–one in which she addresses the topic of her and Lamar’s recent (and surprise) reconciliation. Does calling off the divorce mean that the two are getting back together? Well…not exactly.
“There are too many other important things,” said Khloe, “too many medical things. It’s not even in our brains thinking about us as a couple or having a relationship right now.”
However, Khloe kept the door open on the possibility of one day going all the way back together, potentially. “I loved him always, and I will always love him,” Khloe explained. “I don’t believe love is fickle. I believe when you love someone, you are allowed to love from afar. You don’t have to be with that person in order to love him.”
Khloe also described the harrowing scene when she discovered that Odom had overdosed and was in a Las Vegas hospital fighting for his life–and what she sees when she thinks ahead, to Odom’s future:
All I knew was I had to get there. I had to get to him and make sure he was okay. I hate that he was in that situation. I wouldn’t want anybody in that situation, especially someone I love and care about….There is a very long road ahead. He has to walk that road by himself, and, most importantly, he has to want to walk that road. I will be there supporting him every step of the way.
In related Lamar Odom update news, Rob Kardashian has offered his support to his brother-in-law, and done so in a very tangible way indeed. Rob’s allegedly gone ahead and made it known that Odom can have one of his kidneys, gladly, in the event he still needs one when he grows strong enough to have a transplant.
Said a mutual friend with close ties to both Rob and Lamar, “Rob is willing to do whatever it takes to help Lamar recover. If that means donating a kidney then so be it; Rob has a big heart and he’s willing to step up to help his friend.”
As to the question of whether Rob is even a match with Lamar, the friend continued: “Rob is willing to undergo medical tests to find out.”
