Star Magazine, the tabloid that revealed Lamar Odom’s first two mistresses — Jennifer Richardson and Polina Polonsky — is now introducing Sandy Schultz, a woman who claims to be the NBA player’s mistress of 10 years.
“I was very much in love with him,” Sandy told Star. “I loved his openness and his sexuality. My nickname for him was ‘Lam Lam,’ and to hear Khloe calling him that now is like a dagger through my heart.”
Sandy, a 29-year-old graduate student, said she met Lamar in 2003, when he was at the tail-end of his first tenure with the Los Angeles Clippers. Even though he moved to Miami to play with the Heat later that year, she said they “dated solidly” for two years and “then on and off for seven years after that.”
According to Sandy, her affairs with Lamar overlapped with his relationships with both Khloe Kardashian and Liza Morales, the mother of his children. The lack of monogamy apparently wasn’t a big deal to her, considering she also cheated on her ex-fiance with Lamar.
“Our feelings for each other had remained so strong,” she said of a 2007 reunion. “It didn’t bother him that I was engaged to someone else.”
Sandy broke off her engagement in the spring of 2009. She hoped that would be her real chance with Lamar, considering they were both single at the same time. At first, he seemed to be on the same page and they had a hot-and-heavy romance.
In August of that year, however, Lamar jilted her for his famous whirlwind engagement to Khloe.
“She knew I was Lamar’s girlfriend and she obviously just didn’t care,” Sandy said of Lamar’s first meeting with Khloe during a Welcome to L.A. party. “And Lamar didn’t have the decency to call me…”
When Lamar and Khloe did marry, Sandy said she was appalled and insulted… But apparently not appalled and insulted enough to cut Lamar out of her life. When he did call her two years later, she said they spent a passionate weekend together in San Francisco.
Sandy claimed the only break they took was the bed was when Lamar went into the bathroom to do drugs.
“All I could hear was the flicking of a lighter over and over and over again. After awhile, I knocked on the door and asked if he was okay. Lamar answered, ‘No, no, don’t worry about it. Go sit down and watch TV,'” she claimed. “I was concerned, so I rushed to his backpack, looked at the pills, and called a girlfriend to describe them to her. She told me they were OxyContin. I put the pills back, then walked to the bathroom and opened the door. Lamar was crouched by the toilet, holding a square piece of aluminum foil with a blue pill on it with one hand and lighting it from underneath with the other. He was inhaling the smoke through a cigarette-shaped tube in his mouth, and he looked sweaty and horrible. I was beyond shocked, and the fact that I had heard him doing it over and over again from outside the bathroom made me think he was going to die.”
Even though she feared for Lamar’s life, she was happy to see him.
“But at the same time, I wanted to see him and let him see what he missed out on,” she said, adding that was karma for Khloe who “didn’t care about breaking up me and Lamar.”
Predictably, Lamar left her again.
“The bellman later handed me an envelope with $800 in twenties in it, but Lamar had already left. That was the last time I have spoken with him,” she said of the March 2012 meeting.
Considering Lamar reportedly had five women on the side, Sandy’s story isn’t too far-fetched. However, there are a few suspicious details… Specifically, she never mentioned Liza Morales, Lamar’s (public) girlfriend from 1999-2009. Sandy also claimed she was so upset that Lamar hadn’t proposed to her by 2006 that she “left the country.” That just seems kind of weird, considering that was shortly after Liza gave birth to her third child with Lamar.
