What is the meaning of the green ribbon at the 2015 EMMY Awards?

What is the meaning of the green ribbon at the 2015 EMMY Awards?

A number of attendees at the 67th EMMY Awards are sporting green ribbons, but most of us aren’t really sure what cause they are trying to draw attention to. There was some initial confusion on Twitter, as many people and media outlets were reporting that the green ribbon was for mental health awareness, but that was actually…

Nobody came right out and accused Louis CK of masturbating in front of…

VIDEO Louis CK finds a defender of his SNL monologue, but remains mum on sexual misconduct allegations

Louis CK ruffled a few feathers with his SNL monologue this past weekend. Which feathers? The ones who don’t care for jokes comparing the Israel-Palestine conflict to his fighting daughter “little b*tches” in their bedroom. As well as the ones who find jokes about how, given the risk involved, child molesters must love child…

Did Louis CK commit sexual assault? The origin of the allegations against him

Louis CK has told more than a few masturbation jokes onstage in his career. What he’s currently accused of–though with a decided paucity of details, and not by anyone who’s given her name-is both unfunny and rather shocking. Apparently, for years it’s been an open secret in comedy circles that Louis CK likes to pull…

Did Louie’s Louis C.K. really steal school scales for drug money?

Last week’s episode of Louis C.K.’s FX show Louie, “Into the Woods,” was basically a whole movie. The run-time was 90 minutes with commercials as his character Louie relived his own childhood foibles with marijuana after he catches his daughter smoking pot at a concert. The details of his own teen drama around pot, and his difficult relationships with the adults in his life ring so true that it’s hard to imagine that it wasn’t partly inspired by C.K.’s own life.

This is what Louie’s Hungarian girlfriend Amia said to him

Louis C.K.’s six part story about his character Louie’s love affair with a Hungarian woman who doesn’t speak English was brilliantly bittersweet. Louis chose to not use subtitles so the audience, assuming they don’t speak Hungarian, could better feel what it was like for both of them, but in case you want to know everything Amia said to Louis, someone translated it, and we transcribed it.

VIDEOS: Ursula Parker, who plays Jane on Louie, really is a child violin prodigy

Ten-year-old Ursula Parker steals any scene she’s in on FX’s Louie as his younger daughter Jane, and that’s saying a lot because Louie is chock full of absurd wonder and deep observations. A big part of her presence on the show involves violin playing, and last night included an episode that showcased her talent.

Louis C.K. and “Louie” guest star Sarah Baker tackle the stigma of being a “fat girl”

Tonight’s first episode of Louie deals with an incredibly sensitive and awkward topic; how men treat women they don’t find attractive, especially overweight women.

One of last week’s episodes dealt with Louie landing in bed with a gorgeous astronaut’s daughter in the Hamptons, a perk of making her laugh, but he was perplexed by the situation. He fumblingly tells her that this type of thing just doesn’t happen to him, and she replies, “Well, maybe it’s not really happening.” Most of Louis C.K.’s FX seems to be happening in an absurdist dream-like state, and it’s this disconnection from reality that allows it to go to some startling realistic territory.

Louis C.K. beautifully explains why kids shouldn’t be given smartphones

It seems like these days children are getting smartphones younger and younger, and while that enables them to learn more about technology, have a safety net if they need an emergency call, and sometimes even be tracked by their parents, constantly being glued to the internet and social media may be having detrimental effects on their emotional development. Comedian Louis C.K. explains in poetic detail what smartphones are probably doing to our children (and to adults.)

Daniel Tosh apologizes for rape joke with dead babies reference

Tosh.0 master of ceremonies Daniel Tosh has received some seriously harsh criticism following a rape joke he targeted at a female audience member. Read her version of what happened, the club owner’s version, and Daniel’s sort of apology that referenced dead babies. Included for reference is a clip of popular comedian Louis C.K. riffing on rape and then let us know if you think Tosh was out of line or if all things should be on the table for stand-ups.

PHOTO – Louis C.K.’s experimental art films starred his ex-wife Alix Bailey

Youtube has given us a few rare glimpses of Louis C.K.’s ex-wife, painter Alix Bailey. Several years ago before he became a stand-up superstar, Louis C.K. (real name Szekely) schooled himself on film-making by playing with a few of absurd short black-and-white films. A couple of them starred Alix Bailey, yet unencumbered with the perilous good luck of being Loius C.K.’s ex-wife, and source of stand-up material.
