If there was one lady that VH1 had to land for their show Baseball Wives it absolutely had to be the most infamous of all, Anna Benson. Anna’s been out of the fierce spotlight for a while now but when she hit it big she literally changed the baseball world having been the only female non-athlete to ever appear on the cover of The Sporting News.
If you’re not familiar with Anna I’ve put together this post to introduce you, along with some seriously helpful photos like the one seen above, to a lady that’s pretty darn difficult to forget ya’ll.
Other than sexy, the word most used to describe Anna would have to be outspoken. Just how outspoken is she you ask? Well when her husband, retired pitcher Kris Benson, was a member of the New York Mets she told Howard Stern that if she ever caught him cheating on her she would get revenge by sleeping with the entire Mets organization. After only one year in the N.Y.C. Benson was traded to the Orioles and many, including Kris himself, believe it was because of his wife’s sometimes outrageous comments. I wonder if they told her to not let the door hit this on the way out:

Anna was born near Atlanta, GA in 1976. She dropped out of high school as a sophomore and left her home at just 16. She started a career in exotic dancing in Atlanta and got married and had a baby at the age of 17. It was in 1998 when she met Kris while performing at the Mardi Gras, a strip club in Atlanta. Kris was playing for the minor league team the Nashville Sounds at the time. The two got married in October of 1999. She actually filed for divorce in 2006 but withdrew the petition.

Irreverent humanitarian, Anna Benson, is not just another pretty face; she is a woman to be seen and heard. She balances her time between photo shoots, appearances, interviews, and charitable endeavors, to stay as busy as she can. Anna has been able to create a stir among a lot of people. Her personality and wittiness demand attention. Now, with an upcoming TV show in the works, Anna is primed to once again take center stage. She’s been very blessed in the past, and has had the opportunity to hone her skills on some of the biggest of stages, but her best work is yet to come.
Everyone has read about Anna in the tabloids and blogs; however, Anna’s strongest presence is felt when she can get in front of the camera. Over the years she has been showcased on episodes, or sat in on panel discussions. Some of her work includes, Best Damn Sports Show, The Neil Cavuto Show, Cold Pizza, and the O’Reilly Factor. She was also featured a couple times on VH1’s highest rated show, the Fabulous Life – both on Celebrity Wives and My Coolest Years: The First Time. On the show, Anna showed just how quick and funny she can be when given a platform.

Finally, while juggling the free time she has, she tries to dedicate as much time towards spending quality time with her husband and raising her four wonderful children. Over the years, Anna has put an emphasis on spending time and energy on the ones she cares about the most, and who care about her, her family and friends. Life’s short, enjoy it while you can, and don’t worry about making mistakes when you can make history.
In anticipation of the show Anna has launched an all new Twitter page. She’s already showing a flare for the dramatic that should be all good for a reality show.

You never know how Baseball Wives is going to turn out, but I can’t imagine that Anna Benson won’t bring the drama. Love her or hate her, and she has an army of h8rs which I’m sure will bear out in the below comments, she’s hard to ignore. I’m guessing that’s exactly what VH1 is banking on.
