Tila Tequila and Casey Johnson engagement video may be fake; staged by ‘Girls Gone Wild’ creator Joe Francis

Is Joe Francis behind Tila Tequila’s public engagement to the late Casey Johnson?

Insiders who spoke to the NY Daily News think so. These anonymous sources say Francis (dubbed “Douche of the Decade” by Gawker) was financing a website for Tila Tequila and masterminded the bizarre uStream video where Tila and Casey announced their engagement in their underwear. There’s since been a good deal of buzz speculating that the whole engagement was just a publicity stunt.

This video was the last of a string of strange, sometimes naked, other times excruciating uStream videos featuring Tila trying to drum up interest in her bevy of new projects. One video she appeared topless and ranted about Shawn Merriman, but in another she claimed to be a tough-girl alter ego, Jane Cordovez. Before posting the engagement video, Tila and Casey walked the red carpet at a minor event and turned heads with their PDA. Later that night, they were broadcast laying in bed in their underwear announcing their engagement and discussing their future together.

Since Casey was discovered dead by her landlord in her Hollywood Hills home Jan. 4, Tila has been tearing up Twitter. She even Tweeted at one point on Jan. 4 that Casey was not dead, but in a coma. It was later revealed that Casey had been deceased for days when she was found.

Casey Johnson’s friends, family, and former lovers have lashed out at Tila for using Casey’s death just to drum up more attention for herself. Tila’s  tweeting about her “wifey” intermixed with promotions for her website TilasHotSpot, and spats with Perez Hilton, has been disturbingly constant for someone who’s just lost a loved one. To make matters sketchier, a few days ago, Tila preened and posed for paparazzi gathered outside her house like it was a magazine photo-shoot; mugging, prancing, putting flowers in her cleavage, showing off her belly, and even climbing in a tree.
