Yesterday while nearly one million people were changing their Facebook profile pics to photos of their dads and sharing warm and sentimental stories, they got their heartstrings pulled even more by a post seemingly by Ryan Gosling. It told a heart wrenching tale about Ryan’s secret one-year adoption of a baby boy.

The message even included a photo of Ryan cuddling with a baby, and a detailed account of what supposedly happened with the actor and the baby. “This little guy was only 9 months old when I became his dad. His mom and I were great friends before she passed away from cancer. I promised her, I’d always look after him. So, I had decided to step up and become his dad. He brought me so much joy. He was my everything.”

Then, there’s the kicker:

“1 year later after the adoption, his biological father wanted him. Of course, I put up a fight, but he won. That 1 year of being his father taught me how to love unconditionally. We have to stop and be thankful for our children and children should stop and be thankful for their parents. What I truly learned most of all is, every child needs love. Save thousands of children and meet me while doing it (sic).”

So, one million people believed that Ryan Gosling was in a court custody battle with the father of a baby he took in for a year after his mother died? And no one knew about it? It was Father’s Day, which had already washed the day in heartwarming sentimentality, and Ryan Gosling is the epitome of nice things, but this is definitely a hoax, folks.
