Danny Glover is a legendary actor and a cool dude. For my personal taste his performances in films such as Grand Canyon, The Color Purple, The Royal Tenenbaums and of course the Lethal Weapon franchise are stand-outs in the last 30 years of cinema. He’s consistently good to great and I can’t recall being thoroughly disappointed in one of his roles.
So should living legends wear toe shoes?
His humanitarian work is just as impressive as his chosen field of work. He’s a respected and known supporter in the cause for union workers in America, he’s on the board of The Jazz Foundation of America and he’s gone as far as to be arrested supporting his convictions. During a 2010 protest in Maryland for unfair and illegal treatment of workers he was given a citation and later released as he joined in the fight for SEIU workers for Sodexo. In light of this long and storied career Glover was honored at the 7th Deauville American Film Festival in France on Wednesday.
Taking all of this established background and wonderful career in to consideration should we give Danny a pass for wearing toe shoes to the event!?! Yes I said toe shoes and they’re like those toe socks your niece wears but they’re shoes. They’re called Five Finger KSO kicks and they’re the product responsibility of a company called Vibram. It’s a tough call but the man was Detective Roger Murtaugh so I’m letting him slip by this time.
