The Notebook TV series in development at The CW
It wasn’t over. It still isn’t over! Nicholas Sparks and The CW are teaming up to develop The Notebook TV series, based on the 1996 book and 2004 movie by the same name.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show “will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.”
Notice there is no mention of the older versions of Noah and Allie. During the Television Critics Association’s press tour, The CW president Mark Pedowitz said it’s unlikely viewers will see the flash-forwards — although “things change” in development.
The pilot episode hasn’t been filmed and there’s no word on who will star. It is a Nicholas Sparks Productions and Warner Bros. Television project. Sparks will serve as one of the executive producers.
