Octavia Gahagans kicked off My 600 Lb Life Season 7 in positive fashion. The Kansas City native had been bed-bound for a year before moving to Houston to work with Dr. Nowzaradan. The first year of her weight loss journey culminated in grand fashion, as Octavia lost a third of her body weight. But how’s she doing today?

Fortunately, we’ve got a slew of brand new weight loss photos in our My 600 Lb Life Octavia update. Based on plenty of evidence, it looks like things are still going well for Octavia.

My 600 Lb Life Octavia update: Kicking ass in grand fashion

There’s no other way to put it: My 600 Lb Life‘s Octavia Gahagans is doing great. Season 7 has had its share of success stories, and Octavia’s is definitely one of them.

It’s a far cry from viewers’ first meeting with Octavia. When her weight loss journey began, Octavia actually didn’t know her weight. She hadn’t been physically able to get onto a scale for some years.

The decision to move to Houston and jump start her weight loss was easy enough. But Octavia needed her entire family to help her pack up. And a team of EMTs had to get Octavia out of her home and into an especially outfitted van for the trip south.

Once she’d arrived in Houston and at Dr. Now’s offices, it was time for the moment of truth. After discovering that she was at a peak weight of 692 pounds, Octavia got serious in a big hurry.

The pounds began dropping, and Octavia quickly received approval for gastric bypass surgery. By the end of her debut episode, the 42-year-old had lost a total of 236 pounds.

Octavia’s applause-worthy weight loss began a string of unusually successful stories throughout My 600 Lb Life Season 7, which has seen a higher-than-usual average weight loss for each new cast member.

How is My 600 Lb Life‘s Octavia Gahagans now?

Octavia these days is still ringing up victories in her war for health. As we wrote in an earlier My 600 Lb Life Octavia update, she’s definitely one of the more private cast members.

It’s for this reason that Octavia doesn’t often share information on social media. The exact details of her recent weight loss successes are something she keeps to herself.

Pictures, though, are another story. Octavia indulges her fans with new snaps on the regular.

And here’s a second pair of recent pics, taken approximately one month ago. In these two, it seems Octavia decided to celebrate her newfound health with someone who knows all about weight loss battles.

In case you’re wondering, yes, the woman on the left is Octavia’s My 600 Lb Life Season 7 castmate Destinee Lashaee.

It looks like the two women ran into each other and posed for some fun snaps while waiting for their check-ups at Dr. Now’s office.

(The woman in between Octavia and Destinee is an unidentified friend of Octavia’s.)

We haven’t yet been able to confirm filming for an Octavia Where Are They Now? episode. But we can confirm that Octavia appears to still live in Houston.

So it’s at least possible that we’ll get the next chapter of her story when next year’s crop of Where Are They Now? episodes airs.
