MY 600 LB LIFE Joe Wexler now happily married, wanting a baby with wife Sarah

The My 600 Lb Life Joe Wexler episodes represent one of the happiest arcs in the show’s history. Since his Season 3 introduction, Joe — who started off bewildered by the news that he was eating 10,000 calories per day — has lost an astonishing 63.7% of his peak weight.

But going from 792 to 287 pounds in just three years was only the start for Joe, whose most recent episode saw him happily engaged. Joe met his fiancé Sarah in an online weight loss support group, and their wedding plans presented some difficulties unique for My 600 Lb Life. For example, how are you supposed to go wedding cake tasting when everything in the cake is a dieting no-no?

Fortunately for viewers — to say nothing of Joe and Sarah! — the two managed to navigate their temptations, and were married on August 6, 2016. The date was especially important for Sarah, as it was her late father’s birthday.

Since the most recent My 600 Lb Life Joe episode aired, Joe has regularly engaged with old and new fans via his official Facebook page. He’s also managed to answer a few of viewers’ more specific questions about his journey — like, for example, why Joe’s mother Robin didn’t move to Iowa with him after he married Sarah:

My mother lives in Tennessee and was unable to move to Iowa where I have to leave because my significant other has a daughter and cannot move because she is in school and it has a custody agreement with the other half…If I could have my mother with me I would in a heartbeat but she has her own life.

Joe revealed that he’s hoping to treat viewers to yet another chapter of his story. “I am still waiting to hear back,” Joe said recently, “on if I am going to do a part 4 but if they offer it to me I will do it.”

Finally, one fan asked Joe if he and Sarah are planning to have a child together. (Sarah’s biological daughter is from a previous relationship.)

Sarah is an administrator on Joe’s page, and fielded the question herself. “I (Sarah) have my tubes tied from before I met Joe,” she said, before adding, “but you never know. We want one, just enjoying our daughter and being married.”
