Kourtney Kardashian reportedly eyeing post-TV retirement with Scott Disick
Kourtney and Scott relationship rumors have swirled ever since the 37-year-old Kardashian icon broke things off with her 32-year old baby daddy. Now, though, it looks like the pair might possibly be headed for something like a reconciliation–and a long, twilight retirement together, following what could potentially be a quick departure from reality television stardom.
Kourtney made the cmments, which have raised the eyebrows of many a Keeping Up With The Kardashians fan, in a new interview with YOU Magazine. “I don’t want the show to end,” she began, “but I sometimes think I would be so happy if it did and I could just move away from it all.” Kourtney continued, “By the end of every season I’ve had enough…”
Elsewhere in the interview, Kourtney described her back-and-forth relationship with fame. “I still feel surprised when I’m recognized in the street,” she said. “I forget that so many people know who I am and have seen me give birth.”
Though her comments appear to have taken the gossip world by surprise, Kourtney is hardly the first member of her family to consider stepping back from the spotlight’s glare. It was only a few weeks ago that 18-year-old Kylie Jenner expressed a desire to “get away from it all,” flee her makeup empire and E! network’s cameras, and live a quiet life with Tyga someplace idyllic. And shortly before that, 19-year-old Kendall Jenner said she was seriously considering quitting both reality TV and the high-pressure world of modeling in favor of a simpler, more peaceful life.
Kourtney’s thoughts on the ease of her current setup with estranged partner Scott Disick have also given her fans pause, and led many to wonder whether the Kourtney and Scott relationship might soon involve a reconciliation. Co-parenting with Scott “is really easy,” Kourtney gushed: “Scott and I communicate all the time. You have to keep discussing what’s going on because as the children grow older, the rules need to be renegotiated.”
Even then, though, Kourtney couldn’t help clarifying that her high-profile life can make everyday activities difficult. [Scott and I] make sure we go on days out together because the kids love it,” she explained, “but it’s really hard when you’re at the zoo and there are cameras in your face all day.”
Additionally, if she’s serious about a break with the current Kardashian arrangement, Kourtney might have to give back some fat reality TV dollars: momager Kris Jenner recently inked a four-year, $100 million-dollar deal with E!, one that will keep her family on the network through at least 2018.
