It took longer than she wanted, but Kim Kardashian is finally pregnant again. The 34-year-old had a rough go of it while trying to conceive and then carry North, and an even harder time getting pregnant with baby number two. One of the things Kim Kardashian credits with helping her this time is a secret surgical procedure she underwent this past December.
Kim developed a tear in her uterus while giving birth to North West in June of 2013. That tear scarred over during her recovery period, and led to some of the difficulty Kim and Kanye had conceiving the second time around.
We saw Kim undergo minor uterine surgery on Keeping Up With The Kardashians this past April. Now, multiple outlets are reporting that she had a much larger procedure to remove scar tissue from her uterus last December, when the cameras were off. That surgery also had a recovery period of some twelve weeks–which means that, given the timing of the second pregnancy announcement, Kim and Kanye must have gotten right back to work as soon as the time had passed. (Maybe the joke Kim Kardashian told about having sex with Kanye 500,000 times a day to try and get pregnant wasn’t too far from the truth…)
Now that the secret’s out, Kim is working hard to avoid the weight gain she suffered and was widely criticized for while pregnant with North. She “doesn’t want to be ripped apart again,” says a friend, and has hired a nutritionist to help her get ahead of the “problem.”
Right now, though, her only real problem is morning sickness–which, according to a recent interview with UsWeekly, is actually a misnomer. “I’ve had really bad morning sickness, day sickness, night sickness,” Kim said; “I can barely get out of bed. But it’s so worth it, and I don’t really care. I’ll get through it.”
