Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro from MTV’s Jersey Shore are so on-again-off-again they create a strobe effect.
The romance budded early in the first few days in the original Jersey Shore cast soon after Ronnie boasted these famous last words: “Never fall in love at the Jersey Shore.” This was back when everyone was getting paid in pickles and Valtrex and they had no idea they’d be an international pop culture phenomenon.
They had a few angry, jealous blow-outs while on the show, but the big explosion came on the reunion special when MTV showed Ronnie “lost footage” of Sammi confiding in The Situation, who had a crush on her. She told The Situation that she flirted with another guy, and Ronnie didn’t like the story or the intimate manner Sammi was relating to The Situation so he broke it off with her on camera. It was kind of heartbreaking, but they reportedly got back together in the next few days.
There were reports of another split, but they were seen arm-in-arm several times during the spring. Then the crew started filming Season 2 in Miami, and word is Ronnie wanted in on the other boy’s “Smooshing” scorecard, and the couple split again.
No word on if they are or aren’t back together, but they were spotted walking amicably side-by-side (above) on their way to the KISS-FM ‘Now 34 and the Jersey Shore’ party in Hollywood. If they are together, will they stay that way? Maybe not for long, but you know these two are going to get married someday. And then divorced. And then married again.
