Former America’s Next Top Model contestant Mirjana Puhar was murdered on Tuesday night along with two men in Charlotte, North Carolina, local authorities and her friends confirmed today.
According to The Charlotte Observer, officers responded to the scene after getting reports of gunshots. Upon investigating, they discovered the bodies of 19-year-old Mirjana, her 23-year-old boyfriend, Jonathan Alvarado, and their roommate, 21-year-old Jusmar Gonzaga-Garcia.
Police worked quickly and arrested 19-year-old Emmanuel Jesus Rangel this morning without incident. He has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and is also suspected in a fatal weekend shooting. Local authorities said they believe the slayings were drug-related and indicated the victims all knew Emmanuel.
Mirjana appeared on the 21st cycle of America’s Next Top Model, which aired in 2014. She was eliminated in the 10th episode, but continued to work as a model after returning to North Carolina. Her friends say she recently moved in with her boyfriend.
