Why Kanye West doesn’t appear on Keeping Up With the Kardashians
Kim Kardashian’s fiance and baby daddy Kanye West makes scant appearances on her family’s reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Is it because he wants to stay private, or is there another reason?
According to Ye, it’s not so much the fact that KUWTK is reality TV, it’s just that the cinematography could be better.
“I don’t really do her show just because I don’t particularly like the way the producers shoot some of the shots. I’m very meticulous to that, right? I like to get a different [director of photography] or whatever,” he told radio station Hot 97. “And when we got engaged, I made sure the show was there [filming] because I felt like that was something that would make her happy. Regardless of how it was shot, I felt like this is a moment she would like to have and would like to share, and just have that documented. And we could decide later or not to air it.”
The famous couple’s wedding may be televised, as long as Kanye gets creative control over how it’s shot and presented. (Let’s face it, that could be interesting.)
“I felt like when we first got together, it was like a ‘Romeo and Juliet’ kinda thing where it’s like she’s a reality star and I’m a rapper, and people talking about how our brands connect and what doesn’t fit and I’m just so tired of the conversation of brands,” he said.
Last month Kanye revealed that 2010’s “Lost in the World” (featuring Bon Iver) was originally a poem he wrote for Kim. He was dating Amber Rose at the time, and Kim was getting involved in the Kris Humphries debacle, but even so Kanye says Kim knew the song was for her. “I wanted to marry that girl from the first time I saw her,” he explains. All it took was patience,” he said. “I had to wade through a bunch of relationships to get my chance.”
