VIDEO Tyga claims age difference irrelevant in relationship with Kylie, slams critics, blames the devil for bad vibes
Tyga and Kylie have been a controversial pairing since well before the two were officially an item. The 26-year-old rapper is best known for his relationship with 18-year-old Kylie Jenner, and have allegedly been together for two years–since well before Kylie was of legal age. Now, for the first time, Tyga has addressed criticisms levvied against him, and thinks all his haters should keep their mouths shut.
Tyga recently sat for an extensive interview with Bay Area radio station 106 KMEL; naturally, all things Tyga and Kylie came up, and the Tygster wasn’t afraid to share what he really thinks. Tyga knows how much “hate” people seem to have for him; according to Tyga, though, “It’s not affecting my real life.
“It’s kind of hard to really talk about [Tyga and Kylie] because people are gonna bash,” the occasional rapper, whose name at birth was Michael Stevenson, went on. “I didn’t understand it though ’cause I’m like, ‘This person is a really good person.’ And it’s almost like, the devil keeps trying to tell me something to not follow God and not just let God do what he wanna do.
“So, I don’t really know how to speak [about] that,” Tyga explained, “because it’s just something that I have to deal with. A lot of things in life, you just gotta deal with it as it come, that’s what I learned….I just keep my faith strong.”
When asked to explain how the actual Tyga and Kylie relationship differed from the perception people have of their relationship–thanks, in large part, to social media–Tyga continued to dismiss negativity, and appeared to blame others for perpetuating the numerous stories of his involvement with girls as young as 14:
People just read headlines. People don’t actually look into stuff, or break down people’s character. I think now it’s so much being fed to people they don’t know what’s good, or bad. After a while you just get to a point, where you’re like, ‘Well, it’s not affecting my real life.’ The public perception might bother you a bit… but you gotta pick and choose your battles. I didn’t start making music to be on reality TV. Or wake up to address TMZ, or see stuff from my lawyer everyday from TMZ, and it’s like I don’t care about that sh*t.
If you’re so inclined, here’s the full interview, in which the “Rack City” performer talks about all things Tyga and Kylie, along with his ex Blac Chyna, his beef with Drake, and what he really thinks of Kris Jenner:
